  • Yeah, that's what I mean - sorry, that last post sounded a little ambiguous to say the least

I actually meant the odd attacking military unit in your own territory - though bombardment of the opposition's continent is allowed. Of course, if someone does something incredibly silly like found a base on their opponent's continent then action can be taken....

Still, the best thing to do is agree some hard and fast rules between you....can't go wrong that way....

    • No problem!
I was just trying to clarify what that meant. It would be good to follow the same protocol of the other DTs... Still the bombardment thing seems screwy to me. If someone wants to hole up and just build build build, having to worry about cruisers taking out your boreholes seems a little much. Considering that you've probably conceded at least most of the map to your opponent already.
      Just my opinion.

      • The "limited military action" is indeed vague, and has been interpreted differently by different players. In DT7 against Misotu we never attacked each other at all and the only probe actions were to infiltrate datalinks, but you could agree to some rules between yourselves, such as to stay off the other's continent.

Anyway, I'll send the first turn to Vitamin J in a minute. Mark, could you send the white password to Sikander if you have has email address?

                • Ok, thanks guys for setting us up. I'm gonna mail Sikander about our rule agreement soon. I just found out that I'm in AXT055 and AXT056, in addition to this new DT, today. I have a question, and I hope this is an ok place for it. Is there any way to keep from leaving the game at the end of your turn? (You know how the screen asks for the next password or save and exit.) I'm asking because my comp is kind of slow, and to reload the game for every turn I take seems a little much. I've only been in one game 'till today and it hasn't been a problem since I just take the turn then upload/mail it. But if I want to play the other turns before exiting... Maybe I missed something. If there is no other way, I'll just grin and bear it, but if there is I need to know! Thanks

                  edit:
Well, we've got a problem. When I try to load DT13 I get an "invalid page fault" error message. Does anyone have an explanation/fix? AXT055 and 056 loaded up fine, so I'm pretty sure it's just this game. Any help is appreciated. I'm off to post the military rules Sikander and I agreed to in the turn-tracking thread.

                  • Unfortunately there's no way to prevent leaving the game after you've finished a PBEM turn.

About the error: this is a plain SMAC game. Did you try to load it in SMACX? If not, maybe it got corrupted in the mail. In that case I could try sending it again.

                    • Oops! That's gotta be it. Will try again this afternoon.
                      Thanks Paul.
