Red - if you send me the maps, I can always start a couple for you - of course, I won't be able to do my game against Hobbes, but the Paul/Misotu/Tig series should be doable.

Well... I'll post this under the risk of repeating the (maybe) pure obvious, but there is a... aham... "feature" of the game(I would call it legitimate, only that it turns transcendence cheesy) about building that would turn this competition a little cheesy.
If this would be reckoned as legitimate and no one else knows of it, then I'd say I would be really worthy opponent(speaking in a motherf***er level of challenge hehehe )
As I said before, I'm under the risk of posting the very obvious, but I haven't seen any of my friends using it and I use it since Civilization, but I don't know nothing of the internet community of SMAC and CIV so, again, I do not know if I have a good discovery or just made it up like others hehe
If you guys think its OK that I post it here, then I'll do. I do say that if it's to be considered "cheat" it'll be VERY visible to the opponent if he's infiltrated(more visible than the "elite patrol" bug, although I insist it probably isn't a bug because it works since Civ :P)

I'm interested in the Dominus Transcendi Challenge.
What I must do?
-Vultur
PS
I've studied latin (but I wasn't the first in my class ):the word "trancendence" doesn't exit (it can be used a periphrasis ), but I think that is not a problem (I hated latin )

As a possible, though far from ideal, solution:
I still have the savefile for my first turn in DT4, and I remember my password. So if Paul also remembers or can find his, it would be possible to send this file to the participants, who can then change their names and details from the in-game menus.
One problem is that Paul went first, so the blue faction will already have played a turn. That probably only means founding a capital, selecting the free tech and moving all units one square, so it is not all that disruptive, and it does offer a way to get these games going after all - if Paul has his password and people are willing to play with that limitation.

Now that *is* a good idea - of course, with the players being the same factions and all, there are no problems on that front. Just hope Paul remembers his password....We're back!

You're not the only one Tau, I do the same thing
I'm sorry everyone, I completely forgot about this. You know, life has this annoying habit of getting in the way of one's SMACing
Anyway. Since you have the initial save & passwords, I guess that could work. Alternatively, since I'll probably have a couple of free hours tonight (miracle !), I could prep the games...
To summarize the games:
DT6 - Mark13 vs Hobbes
DT7 - Misotu vs Paul
DT8 - Misotu vs TigToad
DT9 - Paul vs TigToad
DT10 - Vultur vs ?
Let me know if this is good, or maybe one of you wants to play with Vultur instead of between each other ?
If everyone wins one game, the winner could be determined based on the Alpha Centauri Score.

I wish people would get ther priorities right (j/k)
No, seriously - I know it's a lot of trouble, but thanks.
BTW - I could play Vultur in DT10, if you are still in need of a player....We're back!

Having new games would probably be better, because that way players wouldn't know each other's passwords. And to make things fair, I think that players with more than one game should play blue in one game and white in the other. After all, playing first gives an advantage to that player.
