Adam, I hope that everything is clear now, no hard feelings. I'll always appreciate your contribution, and please keep correcting me when you think I'm wrong, but bring the proof!

Aredhran, bringing me to this thread helped ME to gain an even deeper understanding of the issue, honed by the dispute! Thanx.
It's your fault if I limited myself to a three-lines post before, and that forced me to post my usual two-pagers to clear the misunderstandings generated by the short one!

I was about to post a simple
    K
as answer to your mission call, but Apolyton was so slow at the moment, and I had to go home from work...

Jam, I resisted 4 days at least, I admit that I accepted the mission but it aborted past halfway...

Now, anyone interested in an Excel sheet that tells you when it's still convenient to switch to a facility, overhurry and switch back to the needed unit?
I don't exactly know what I mean by that, but I mean it (Holden Caulfield)

Wow. After all that, Adam Smith admits "I don't pay partial payments. Why would you?" Wow.

And then, MariOne posts another encyclopedia. This, after Adam admits that this whole time he's been arguing about something he doesn't even do. Wow wow. You guys are entertaining!

For what it's worth, I regularly pay partial payments, and so does anyone who gives a darn about turn advantage. It's crucial to me to make these payments *exactly*, and the formula, or rather the tables, have been a lot of help. So, there you are.

One mineral can be very, very important.

Yeah... this whole thread has made my head spin... (Forgive me for saying this but...) it was like being witness to an argument between Newt Gingrich and Pee-Wee Herman... or Spock and Captain Kangaroo... bizarre... I wonder if I could get the cliff notes somewhere...

          ROTFLMAO

(Personnally, I always use the formula - you need a calculator anyway so the table is a bit pointless IMO)

The lists pointless? Oh, the lists are full of point! Sure, you can figure everything out with a calculator, but with the lists you don't have to figure out how many minerals are remaining. Figuring out minerals remaining requires either a) quitting out of the base screen and shift-right-clicking to select the base square and then moving the cursor over the base to see how many minerals have been built out of how many minerals are left to build, and then doing subtraction with those figures, which is a mega-pain, or b) actually counting those little boxes, which is a mega-mega-pain. With the lists in the hurry window, as I've done, I don't have to do either thing; I just look up the numbers I need and punch them into the calculator. Sure, sure counting the little boxes isn't that hard if you know basically how many boxes are in a row--but I always forget and end up counting them anyway. And I much prefer using the lists to sitting there using my cursor as a marker and saying to myself, "1, 2, 3...."
