We are discussing the possible capture and obliteration of Enigma Machine. It looks doable. I will try to post some chat logs later, the turnchat seems to be over now. Great turn

When you finish up the turn Maniac, don't forget to move the B-6 on the Gaian border to Fort Sol so that it can participate in the operation.

Good attack/infiltration guys. One question though. Why did we not want to take over the base again? Is it because we don't want it to be infiltrated next turn or would it be too aggressive an action for a "proactive defense"?

We could have taken it over this turn, but it would have risked the lives of our brave B-6 crew, forcing us to attack with noodles against their fighters to save MP:s on our rovers. However, we will capture it next turn, giving us free entrance to the rest of the Angel homeland. I suspect that obliterating the base would be a good move at this stage for the Angels, they will be hard pressed to save their capital if we are allowed to capture Pact Mart.

Modo, your presence was sorely missed in the chat-room.

You can read the logs from this evening here. We are mostly planning evil stuff. Large parts of it is missing but Maniac has some logs too I think, PM them to me and I'll see if I can glue them together.

I thought about this, and I now think the Angels can defend themselves from our very fast destruction of Enigma Machine. All they need to do is to place any combat unit in Mart Pact. We will need to take out that sentry, thus reducing the base to size 1, and so we cannot use Mart Pact as a harbor for our trannie or an airbase for our copter. We can still reach Enigma Machine with our elite rovers, but they will have no MP:s left to obliterate it

But can they defend for long? I mean not just next turn...

That would already deal them a terrible blow.

First, massive drone riots the turn later, and no energy production (no labs, no credits, no production, meaning all their hurrying would wait if I'm not mistaken). If they foresaw it, and put doctors in the cities hurrying, whatever: the units won't have the morale bonus of the Cyborg Factory, ha ha!
We should be able to capture Kahlua Probing too.

Then, someone should check how many credits it would take the Angels to recapture Enigma. It would be huge, I'm sure.
As their reserves would be depleted by hurrying this turn, and can't be replenished due to drone riots next turn, we'll just have to check whether Morgan + Angels have enough money to lend to allow a mind-control.
If No, then we change the rover into plasma-AAA. That would be 3+100%+100%(defence perimeter)+Elite! Enough to deter a few air attacks!

In case Snoddasmannen tells me it would be hideously expensive, well, the thing to do (and to do anyway I'd say) is to scrap and recycle the network nodes at Kahlua and Enigma. Quick money, + money gained by entering the base.
And if the Angels retake the bases, they still need to painfully rebuild a network node.
Bonus: it also hampers their research rate. With luck, Zak turns to PSA and we instabuild HSA. Every turn counts in this race.

After scrapping the nodes, we also change almost all citizens to engineers (lab bonus). To starve the population and pop-loss it if we're unsure we can keep the cities.

Even without obliterating, it seems well worth to put a rover in Enigma.
But we'll see that at the opening of next turn.
