    It could seem desperate.
But we don't have to send a Treaty offer to Morgan: we already did in the last offer we are waiting an answer for.

As for Gaians, deflecting the automatic vendetta would also be in their best interest: they are the weakest link and we could well play 'cold war' with the Angels (each one on his own continent) while sending the amphibious force eradicating the Gaians!! If someone could tell it to them in some diplomatic way...

I've done all that I could for the builder part of the turn. The turn is now sent over to Arcadia Regional Command for some military action.
(Production in Central and Southern Arcadia isn't hurried yet. I'll also leave that to the military turnplayer to decide.)

        Unit moves

        naval
        • Slow trannie in the Straits of Thebes crosses to just offshore AU (with its AA cargo)
        • Foil transport and SNC Heimdall (cruiser transport) in Southern Arcadian ocean move southeast and are joined by the SCC Minas Tirith – flew the B-6 at Kel out to provide CAP
        • remaining foil transport sails for Kel Harbour, anchoring in the bay
        • SNC Mercury, with its AA cargo, sails north to the Tegea Fjord estuary, accompanied by the SCC Iaci
        • SCC Vlademorei commences relocation south to the Angels theater (anchors east of Mendelev College
        Air Force
        • The two B-4s and the B-6 at Temple return to Health Authority via the eastern forest to detect if any Angels units are lurking there (none found)
        • B-6 at ARC flies south and takes out the plasma defender at Temple – production changes there to another plasma defender – crew of the noodle got promoted to Veteran
        • returned the B-4 at the Kel peninsula to Kel Harbour
        • B-4 at ARC took out the PK former at Health Authority (84:64)
        • B-4 at ARC took out the PK former at Temple (86:66)
        • B-4 from Commerce Committee took out the spore launcher north of Aid Station
        • B-4 in Straits of Laconia returns to Minas Tirith
        • B-4 in Minas Tirith relocates to 2NS, via the fungus, to ensure that Yang is behaving (he is)
        • F-6 in MT also deploys to 2Ns, en route for Southern Arcadian defense duties
        • redeployed the B-6 at ARC south to Health Authority
        Covert Operations
        • moved the Crypteia into ARC
        Land Operations
        • Steppenwolf at ARC takes out remaining PK former northeast of base
        • Skanky Sileni at Aid Station sorties out to remove the 2 Angel probe teams – returns to base after mission accomplished
        • scout rover at High Commission takes out PK colony pod on the doorstep
        • badly damaged scout rover in ARC vists monolith – gets repaired, but no upgrade, so it must be maxxed out on morale
        Rush Builds
        • the Crypteia at Bunker-112 for 13 credits
        • the CDF at Health Authority for 10 credits
        • The CDF at Tegea Harbour for 5
        • the Crypteia at High Commission for 13
        • changed RG’s production to MM an F-6 (used the 2min forest crawler)
        Diplomacy
        • Gaians – offered a treaty – I sense that we don’t really care one way or the other, but the commerce income would be handy. Couldn’t just leave us hanging in vendetta
        • Angels – offered Treaty, with the explanation that we had no option but to destroy their stacked probe teams
        • Morgan – offered a Treaty, appealing to their greed with the carrot of the massive paired-bases commerce income that both our factions would receive
        • Yang won’t talk to us
        • Lal won’t talk to us
        • Zak has 180 credits in the bank – do we want to extort any of these?
        Orders needed
        • do we want to spend some credits this turn in upgrading crawlers?
        • do we want to leave that message in the Angels diplo box (offering a treaty) – or do we want to let the vendetta state to continue for a turn or two to justify our building the AV?
Footnote: the laptop performed OK - but had a couple of scary moments when I thought I had run out of aircraft moves

edit: removed save as obsoleted by a later version

If we want to spend some cash on crawler upgrading, I'd suggest two crawlers between FL & TH, so we can use them for tree farm hurrying. If we still have too much cash after that (though we need to keep some in reserve if we need to upgrade some units to SAM next turn), a crawler near Argos would too be neat.

            Btw, love the story.

Will we post it in the general forum, as explanation of our vendetta?

One minor suggestion, how about changing the commander of Skanky's Sileni from Horst to Major Burns?

Done - (see the "Sisterhood of Chiron" thread.) Changed Horst to Burns, and added some fluff about our lack of options, along the lines of Zeiter's post above

                - and at Argos* we want to rush a NN for cashing in that AA on its way north (the northern AA will cash in next turn at AU)

                * unless we want to rush an NN at Vlad - it's got a better minerals base and would replace a crawler much easier than Argos could - but of course, when FS gets its HF it can prolly produce a crawler per turn

But do we upgrade to just trance, or trance-ECM (see the dif above in an earlier post)

For tree farms a trance-ECM would be best. The 11-row crawler fits perfectly for hurrying a 12-row tree farm. For an 8-row network node an 8-row trance-only crawler also fits perfectly.

Rushed the CDF at TH for 5 credits, and upgraded the central crawler there to ECM trance - we can instabuild a tree farm next turn and take advantage of the creche there

Upgraded FL's nutcrawler to ECM trance. it too has a creche already, so a Tree farm next turn would be awesome

(good planning to instabuild a handful of additional cdf's in Northern Arcadia to take advantage of our +2 POLICE rating after the AV becomes active)

Upgraded Argos' crawler on the AU mine to Trance - MM a network node there next turn for the AA coming in

We have 19 bases producing a unit next turn, so should get a significant stockpile energy boost in 2182

If we are happy with the diplo mesages in the boxes, the turn is now final and can be sent on (offered Treaty to Morgan, Gaians and the Angels, with an "apologies - you gave us no other choice" message to the Angels re their probe teams)

There being no comments or other considerations, the above turn is indeed final, and has been sent on to the Gaians

Don't we want to wait until we get AMA?
It would double our chance to get PSA and the HSA.

I think waiting is better. Thanks to the Angelas, we already have something to instabuild. No need for a new one, yet. Especially if we can get a better boost that way.
                          Seriously. Kung freaking fu.

Isn't it the same either way? It's 3 techs whatever we do - the one we are currently researching and two AA'd ones.

But if we wait, I suggest we try to get Centauri Empathy from the Gaians, Bio-engineering from Morgan, and AMA and MMI from the Angels, even if (with the Gaians) it means giving them, say, 3 techs for the 1 they have that we don't have. That way we maximize the value of the AA's by not researching something that others have (but I doubt that the Angels will trade anything to us, now that we have gone ahead and built the Ascetic Virtues)

I don't know the mechanism by which an AA gives a tech.

                              So, I'm afraid:
-- that it could give us AMA, thus wasting more than 1000 lab points accumulated.
-- that it wouldn't give a tech without all its prerequisites already researched, thus excluding PSA from the list of possible ones.

If the AA does give us AMA, then that's good, because we get to choose a new tech to research, and all of the lab points carry over. In fact, that would be ideal, because then we could research PSA and have the HSA very quickly.
