Well err... actually I consider all three techs you suggested great and thus don't really care.

But if I really had to make a choice, it would be between HEC and DocIni.
HEC plasma armour, meaning we could upgrade to 0-2t-1 crawlers while still not losing the ability to crawler-hurry.
DocIni giving cruisers, making invasion much easier in the near future...

If only we knew whether the Angels were interested to give us HEC in a trade...

Damn need to go, the faculty's network node is about to close.

Edit: Ah I see Googlie already decided. No hard decision for me to make.

LOL - how indecisive can one get??

      Here is the dilemma:

Doc Initiative = cruisers, chance to build the MCC, amphibious pods on our troops

HEC = Plasma armor, as well as the aforementioned fasttrack thru SFF to D:AP

Neural Grafting = bioenhancement center capability (with its +2 morale) as well as the chance to build the NG (for the evental war with the Gaians)

Took Doc Initiative (I need to exit, too, for a dental appointment)

Adjucted sliders - Doc Initiative in 2149

Rushed former at Rio Grande for 15 ec's as advertised

Here's the midturn save as i go for my appointment

(btw, I think that the Angels traded Applied Physics to the Gaians for our commlink)

          Now about those build orders.

As we have ecol Eng, I'd say we start an aggressive borehole program (at least 1 per base) to offset the industry penalty (and while formers are gang-forming boreholes that base can be building a crawler to work it - it's going to be some time before we get to Env Econ and the lifting of energy restrictions, so minerals are the thing for now, I'd say)

And that, to me, points to more formers. For the 3 mature bases I'd go for formers (Sparta Command, Sector Craterwest and Fort Buster) For Minas Tirith I'd like to see a Hoplite unit there (to free up Chiron Knights) - and I think its former should head for the mineral special and mine there.

          Just my thoughts

WOOT! Ecol Eng! Boreholes! Boreholes! This is giving us an advantage we shouldn't give away (= trade) too lightly.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

                  Intel gathering...

                  - Lal still refuses to talk.
                  - Zakharov refuses to talk (no surprise)
                  - Yang: First I have to refuse the pact offer to war against the gaians. Next is the demand for gene splicing. An outright refusal leads to nothing happening with anything else I try to negotiate. If I give it to him "gratis", I still can't negotiate nothing else. the same applies if I also demand for a trade with polysoft. So Yang is a dead end road for now...

I've noticed that units who are put on "Hold (On Alert)" already start their turn with "ALREADY MOVED". That's rather annoying as it means you can't for example react to sudden events like a new b-drone force you to shuffle with garrisons. May I therefore suggest that all those units are put on "Sentry/Board Transport" = "l" instead?

Good point. I've never usaed the "on Alert" feature (except for aircraft) till a few turns ago in this game. I'll change status next time I fire up the sav

Opened the turn and executed additional moves:
                        • Sparta Command's Crypteia is refreshing itself at Santiago Citadel en route for Gythium Harbour (will reach there next turn - 2144)
                        • Tomcat-7 (Minas Tirith) south into the fungus en-route to mine (farm as wekk?) to min special
                        • Hunter moves west, encounters fungus but continues - anchors in Morgan's Red Fungus Resort Bay
                        • Changed all units in bases from "On Alert" to "Sentry - Board Transport"

And if it is, their nearest base (Gaians, that is) must be 11 tiles southeast or thereabouts (as Yang's is 11 northwest ................. )

Woohoo! Way to go with grapping EcoEng! We need to pump formers out like crazy now.

BTW, I noticed that Yang's ship is getting close to Lal's continent. It won't be too long before he makes contact with Lal.
