Well... With Googlie, Maniac, Jamski and GT on one team, that's also pretty fearsome. Even the Gaians, with all their membership issues, have Darsnan, Obs, and some new players who seem to be pretty active. The Angels are the dark horses, IMHO, depending largely on how Enigma does with the team, because he will be the most active.

All teams have some crack members, all have their own styles emerging. Will be interesting to see how it goes

Um, if the other teams are starting out with some x-tra creds, Comrade Kody, should not our team start out with a heck of a lot more?

This is probably the most interesting ACDG I've seen ever. The teams are so diverse and unpredictable that I only wish I was a CMN so I could see each teams strategy. But alas, I've comitted myself to "Morgan" Industries.

Besides, we'll be running Planet in the end anyway, so what's the worry?

Franky: All teams start out with 10. The Morganites, as always, start out with 100 extra. The problem was you were given 100, not 110, that you should have.

And yes, it's very interesting being CMN. As I'm sure everyone will find out a little more over the weekend

I sugjest that one of the CMN's (I was initaly hoping for Buster but he dosent seem to be very active). Would keep some kind of Strategy Journal inwhich you critique the strategies used by each team and predict who will win. The goal would be to indentify the key choices that determined the fate of the game.

I think that's a brilliat idea Impaler, so much bloody work it'd be untrue! We should do that for ourselves of course, but trying to keep track of all the moves for 4 factions would be extremely difficult for more than 20 turns or so.

Kody would be the excellent choice for this, however he's been so busy with all the roleplaying stuff, on top of fixing turns etc.

And I wanted him to start the SMAC/X university too.

I think it is time for Kody to develop MPS now.

It's a little too early to predict which faction is going to win. Although I have a suspicion that one particular player will win. I am keeping a journal, but most of the content is about mod decisions and roleplay at this stage I'm afraid. Honghu is keeping a journal too and but it appears she likes filling her journal with pastes of PMs she sends.

Maybe the CMNs can start a discussion thread on each faction. However, I have a suspicion that it'll just be me talking with Honghu add a one liner or two. Furthermore, it means I need to deeply analyse the game, which is not one of my goals for this ACDG. Rather I'm my main goal is to prevent inactivity and foster roleplay issues.

The SMAC/X university that honghu was talking about was actually just her suggestion that we add game strategy related articles to the PLN(Pholus Lunar Newscast).

The real problem is I found people have a habit of using what I say without really thinking about it themselves. I mentioned I got a turn advantage by planting my first bases on a nut, but I didn't go into why and later found one of the other players in the PBEM had used that tactic to a detriment since I hadn't gone into the reasons why. So general I avoid giving mass advice, unless it's game mechanics. Situation specific advice is what I perfer to give as I can be sure most of the variables are taken into account.

That being said perhaps I'll just add disclaimers to all strategy articles I write.

Nice Ideas Kody, I see your will probably be too entangled with your other quite laudable goals and activities for this game to have much involment in the kind of of Strategic analysis that I was hopeing for. If you could atleast spread the idea among the other Mods this would be all I could reasonably expect.
