YES! I'm finally able to look at these SAV files. The trick: Go to ASPYR's FTP site and download the 1.2.1 patch update! YEAH! Sort of had to dig around to find it.

I'm surprised no other Mac user seems to have run into this problem.

    phew!

I keep forgetting to check the turn when I get home. Althought I like to put in my two cents worth, I trust you guys to make the right decisions. Play the turn at your will.

You've been surprisingly undebating lately, Livid Imp..
Are you angry at anyone from the past debates (I hope I made noone angry.. )?

        Better start some debate now!

Why are we building a sea-formers now? In my games I build a laser foil to go sea-pod hunting and exploring. Plus we can most likely capture a few IoDs. I notice the monetary reward for sea-pod popping is much nicer. We should get to the pods before other folks do. Plus having one around, along with a few IoDs will be good defense.

I think we should snag PEG before Morgan does. We should research towards that. Morgan's getting too far ahead.

Has anyone thought of doing MW-trolling in the ruins with one of our SLs?

Just a few thoughts for now...

We will be attemting to sink the landbridge to Hive territory.

I think it's quite impossible now - we need to think about defense now as Hive amasses our troops near our border.

They're all busy on defense now, as soon as they're free of duties, I think they will go trolling as you say.

Just keep going like that! (althought you could find many things have been discussed already)

on sinking the landbridge - that's great. To do it more quickly and (safely) we should build a coastal city closer to the landbridge with a pressure dome and do it with land formers already built. That'll be much more expeditious than building the sea formers way on our southern continent.

Unless I'm being stupid and that type of terraforming is only allowed with a sea former, then we should still be building the sea former closer to the landbridge (with a base) so that we wont need to wait so long for it to get there.

To support a sea former, it'd be good to have a laser/impact attack foil for protection and it could second as an IoD capturer and $$-making sea-pod-popper.

BTW - what is diplomacy like with the Hive? Cant we for protection give them a tech or two to have them call off vendetta and have them turn their attention to the Morganites with a bribe? Diplomacy is another cheap defence against attack. Do we want to keep vendetta against them so that we can continue to probe them safely - at least until we get all their techs?

Hive is irrational. As for the costal city... generally, in multiplay, costal cities are big lightening rods. They are the most vunerable, so it is custom to build as few as possible. Although, I believe someone did suggest holding the landbridge with a ZOC from a base.

                  Answers:

1.Landbridge can only be sunk with sea former.

2.We could build foil, but our mineral output at the moment is very low. We're building the first borehole, but it will take some time to use it.

3.Hive only opens diplomatical window to remind us that they're going to "sweep us off the Planets face"

4.Coastal bases were dicussed and, I think agreed - they would reduce the sinking cost and provide a defense point if sinking fails.. (ZOC as well)

                    Plan of Action for 2158

Turn's in! I'll actually play the whole thing this time, but not immediately.

                      Plan of Action for 2159

                      Kill Yang's adjacent infantry unit.

Move sea former through sea fungus, as going around it would take several turns, if possible at all.

Move the ex-Angel spore launcher to our southeast, for minor scouting and defense.

how likely are our chances of probing away his production of the foil ?- just do sabatoge.

(Illuminatus, please move this post and the one before it to the turn planning thread)

It's not our foil - it's probably the Angels', but I can't tell. It has just started production, so attempting to sabotage production would be almost useless.

Amazingly, I got to sit down with an actual turn today.

                            1. Why are we building a gun foil 1-1-4, instead of a 2-1-4 or 1-2-4 or perferably a 2-2-4

                            2. When I poped the pod near Oaken Shadow, it gave a Nut bonus. This is likely going to be different for CT, but either way I see no reason not to pop it. If it is a nut bonus, it will double the growth of Oaken Shadow.

                            3. We have appeared to have grown out far enough (except to the north), perhaps it is time to grow up. Any bases not previously prioritized should make supply crawlers and used to draw 2 nuts from fungus tiles or other strategic locations.

2-1-4 costs the same as 1-1-4 IIRC

Even though the 2-2-4 costs 50% more, we need to prototype synth-steel anyway.
