Yang is acting weird and is not attacking as thoroughly as he could. Thanks to that, our mind worms can hold out longer than they would against a competant opponent.

We can put our sea former too far back for artillery to hit without advancing into mind worm range.

The Unity Foil is there for scouting, not for ZoC.

We had some 50 ECs last turn. We should gain another ~20 by next turn. Therefore, probing units is too expensive at the choke point, but if we need to retreat, the cost will drop and our energy reserves will rise, and they will meet at some point. A proximal friendly base should also help drop the cost to probe a unit.

Well, however it appears that we do not posess so much energy..

Hopefully we will be able to trade a few ECs for EcoEng as it is a valuable tech and the people would likely be paying tech + ECs for it (as rarely who wants to disclose a tech as good as this one ).

So we can make this an auxiliary plan and execute in case we spot Hiverian attack foil in close proximity or get a good chance to capture Hive unit..

Let's hope we will ahve the opportunity to repeat your plan!

Very funny What I'm saying is that you need money to fight a war. I don't see any mines or boreholes in place or any prospects for one in 7 years so we could delay our research without penalty.

Well, and how many years you expect the money stockpile would last?

with 1 borehole in place our income would rise by 2-3 Ecs/year and with 2-3 our research will be 1year faster.
Not talking about the mineral gain which is even more significant to our low-production bases..
Our borehole build speed is 1 per 16 turns per 1 former, so we can easily build one in 2 turns..

          ALSO

Therefore, probing units is too expensive at the choke point, but if we need to retreat, the cost will drop and our energy reserves will rise, and they will meet at some point. A proximal friendly base should also help drop the cost to probe a unit.
And we WILL eventually retreat, the question is just when. And when we retreat, we can stranghten our Plan B by capturing 1 artillery (in fact that would be quite a gain for Plan B as it is designed to be a guerilla plan!)

I'm suggesting that we delay borehole/mine production by only 2 years in exchange for an additional bunch of EC's which we could use to subvert a Yank Impact (hopefully artillery ) unit within the next few years. That's one way of getting tech we need to fight this war.
The other way is by probing Society Grid. I really don't see what use the Unity Foil is serving on hold. Also, the probe team without EC's is doing nothing there too. Let's use both of those units to try for a tech. A tech we need to fight this war.
If you think this is just criticism and not a plan than think again. We should be doing these things in addition to plan A and plan B.

I see that the Data Angels have sent pre-accepted 2155 Ethical Calc. Presumably due to mod 3 restriction, EnvEco will not be available to us when we complete EcoEng, per MM's spreadsheet. So, we will need to either trade for or probe for another tech if we want to research EnvEco next.

I don't know what our research options are, but we might be able to negotiate a further trade to bypass any mod 3 problems.

I've been playing with paint a little. Here's a very rough map of some Hive territory. LH=Leader's Hordes, HQ=Hive, SG=Society Grid.

BTW, there is no overlap between any existing Hive bases.

I posted a complete map of Hive territory (as well as part of the rest of the world) a while back: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...hreadid=123959

Excellent effort, very impressive, I'll have to try that myself one of these days.

Umm, turn is in for 12 hours already and nobody psoted anything about it! ? Also, there are 2 reload warnings for Spartans. Method, did they have any problems during turnplay like crashing computer?

Actually this doesn't matter. Due to circumstances I bet turnplaying will pause for a bit due to reasons stated in PM to Method.

Why is turnplaying supposed to pause?

Umm, notice that Jamski is out of Spartan team. He was made admin of Eventis and as such he was in position to read our diplo forum with Angels.
