  • A probable data leak by Spartans

Indeed. We now produce missile rovers instead of recon rovers.

It would be stupid for them to admit they have missiles already if they actually did. That would warn people and give them time to prepare for an attack. They would be better off just slipping in a couple of missile rovers near a city an let us find out the hard way.

The only good reason to tell others about your military is to use it to extort them, and I don't think any of us is falling for that, and even the Spartans should know that.

I think this was expressed accidentally, you know:
blahblah.. (uups what have I done, I told a secret!)

You can see it in the Morganite news issue

Yea, I read it there. Regarding this potential revalation, this brings up a big question, who would Sparta target first? I think I'll post a poll

I doubt Sparta has missile weapons already, though it's a possibility. We don't need to care, as our military consists of scouts and native life, neither of which can tell the difference between laser and missle weapons.

Impossible. Several turns before in one trade discussion they were looking for HGE. Unless they traded for it from someone, they can't have it. Probably boasting. I would also take this opportunity to remind that our psi forces are neither plentiful or all powerful. A careful first strike might wipe most of them.

Our psi forces are not terribly powerful, but would react to missile rovers the same way as laser rovers, regardless.

However, we have only couple of MWs. If we had five or six, that would great.

You know there are some factions called University, PKs, Morganites, whose laboratory status we can't even guess..

Morgan won't research HGE. PKs and Uni, well, it is not quite a priority for them. Uni perhaps.

HGE?? Do you mean HEC=High Energy Chemistry?

                        exactly.

Uni has the ability derive random techs from AAs, if Spartans were looking for HEC, then they were (most probably) already researching it and as soon as we transfered some tech to them (via trade) they used it for buying HEC and this is a very good point, because you said yourself that Uni doesn't value HEC high (and it also gives no SP), so they would be quite willing to trade it for something!

I am bad with acronyms lately , my concentration must be weakining. Your scenario sounds reasonable, I must admit. Too bad we will need to build a foil to make contact with Uni (Spartans are in best position to make contact with them, and even if they do, they won't trade comlink to anyone, or call the planetary elections).
