Discovered Fusion Power! Picked Organic Superlubricant for the next tech (10 attack weapons, access to Adv Spaceflight). Should get it in 5 or fewer turns.
Switched almost all specialists to engineers - over 200 ECs next turn.
Rushed a nutrient satellite and a hab complex. Going to start building a war host.Attached Files"Cutlery confused Stalin"

Killed (after failing to capture) an IoD with two spore launchers (damaged, interestingly) off our southeast coast, gaining 90 ECs.
Rushed several facilities, with the plan of producing the bulk of our army after getting attack 10 weapons (our best right now is 6).Attached FilesLast edited by Chaos Theory; December 4, 2005, 01:56."Cutlery confused Stalin"

Sushed some most usefull buildings plus one more nutsat - nutsats are more productive than forests + TFs as we have not enough forestation.
Noticed that Spartans has put a base very close to us and it has one chaos fusion penetrator and one SAM (the same chaos fusion) needlejet.Attached Files-- What history has taught us is that people do not learn from history.

Can't we build a drop probe and get it from Angels?-- What history has taught us is that people do not learn from history.

2202-3:
Couldn't pick a tech to steal from the Angels (and there are lots of possibilities), so infiltrated datalinks instead for a morale upgrade - maybe next time we can aim for a specific tech.
Spartans are massing slowly on their forward base, but they can't actually inflict damage with what they have there.
Spartans pointlessly killed an IoD between ex-Morganite territory and their original territory.
Preparing to try to take one of Yang's bases next turn, dependent on how many units he happens to have there next turn.
Saving up ECs to upgrade our 17 formers to clean formers and save minerals of upkeep. The cost: 510 ECs (about 2 turns' worth).Attached Files"Cutlery confused Stalin"

Rushed a couple of food sats - we'll have 7 as of next turn (+4 food, capped by population in bases without aero complexes, or +7 food, capped by population in bases with aero complexes).
Still preparing to go after Yang.
Considering producing some drop colony pods to colonize Yang's continent.
Moved drop probe team to Angel continent, can hopefully probe MMI from them before we research it. If not, oh well, we are around 5 turns/tech.Attached Files"Cutlery confused Stalin"

Still can't pick a tech to steal with our probe team, so we'll have to research MMI the normal way.
Scouted Hive territory for a possible attack, but it's too risky. The probe teams at Labor Network, Fecundity Tower, and People's Endeavor could cause serious problems. Spotted a Spartan IoD on the way at (49, 51) (near Seat of Proper Thought). Killed it as revenge. Hopefully, this invites Spartan retaliation, since an attack from them is coming sooner or later, and they're in the midst of building population and probably infrastructure.
3 drop rover probe teams at nearest Spartan base. I wonder if they're going to try something sneaky, since probes dropped into fungus are sometimes hard to spot. Alternatively, they could try to guard their probe teams with needlejets, but we should have enough interceptors after upgrading our <6>-1-8s to take care of that.
2 more hydro sats going up next turn, for a total of 9.Attached Files"Cutlery confused Stalin"

Spotted an 8x needlejet in the nearest Spartan base (Threenuts Crag). Large amounts of nerve gas will overwhelm our defenses, so we need to start thinking about offense. We have enough jets with enough offense near Threenuts Crag to attempt to destroy a massed force of nerve gas needlejets there. An attack from more distant bases is, of course, a possibility, but it would need to face more heavily defended bases. A marine attack is also a possibility, given the high speed of Spartan ships, but it would seem to have only one possible entry point: Lily of the Valley. This location should be hardened against marine invasions.
Finished MMI. Picked Adv Spaceflight next. Currently, will finish it in 4 turns, but should be able to push that to 3 turns, in the absence of a war.
Plasma shard weapons come with Adv Spaceflight, so forward bases have paused war unit production, to focus on morale-enhancing facilities, for the moment. Rear bases are building Fusion Labs and Energy Banks, and will produce a set of energy satellites when Adv Spaceflight is done. We can build the Living Refinery with upgraded fusion speeder crawlers, given our considerable energy income. We should consider switching to Knowledge when Adv Spaceflight is complete, for higher-morale units.Attached Files"Cutlery confused Stalin"

Spartans conquered a portion of the Hive. Unfortunately, we can't conquer a Hive base because the previous candidate base built an Aero Complex. If the Spartans encroach on us too much, we may want to burn away the threat with nerve gas. The nearest ex-Hive base contains an elite 6^-<3>-1*2, a 6-2-6 ship, and an elite 1-<3t>-2*2.
Threenuts Crag, the nearest Spartan base on the east, contains 5 chaos penetrators, 3 chaos interceptors, and a chaos chopper. That much could break the defenses of one, maybe two cities, but would be badly damaged or destroyed in a counterattack, and the Spartans would need to capture (with speeders/elite infantry on transports) and raze attacked bases to actually gain anything. Alternatively, a substantial naval force could capture any of our perimeter cities, but, again, would then be destroyed.
Hurried some labs/econ multipliers in our safer cities. Upgraded some defensive units to try to limit the possible damage on our east coast.
Going to push to get Adv Spaceflight in two turns, then pump out 13x needlejets. It's not like we can benefit from commerce anyway...Attached Files"Cutlery confused Stalin"

Skewed engineer/thinker ratio to try to ensure researching Advanced Spaceflight.
Spartans attacked at a few points. They heavily attritted our interceptor force, possibly as a prelude to an invasion, but we will have Advanced Spaceflight next turn, barring heavy damage.
The Flowers Preach gassed! Looks like it was the only base in range without an aero complex; it had one in progress. The base is still size 8, so only specialists were lost. It should finish its aero complex next turn, but until then is vulnerable to air attack and so doesn't have many units. Oddly, it also didn't have a sensor within 2 tiles. That has been fixed.
The Spartans lost 2 needlejets attacking us, and 5 more to SAM rovers and our last interceptor on our turn. They destroyed 5 interceptors, a land defender, and some incidental units. Considering their units cost almost half again as much as ours, that's not such a bad trade. Unfortunately, they can offset their industrial inferiority with their massive population advantage.
Razorbeak Wood's Memory is vulnerable to Spartan attack from the north until/unless it has an aero complex. If the Spartans realize this and press the attack, we may need to abandon and/or obliterate the base.
Upgraded some obsolete units to AAA defenders or SAM attackers.
All set up to rapidly produce a set of 13x and <13> jets/choppers next turn.Attached FilesLast edited by Chaos Theory; February 16, 2006, 04:08."Cutlery confused Stalin"

Researched Advanced Spaceflight. Picked Adaptive Doctrine next, on the way to AMA.
Some crawlers and formers picked off by choppers - killed the choppers without risk.
All set to produce several 13x-1-12*2 and hit the Spartans hard. Hopefully, everything goes off as planned.Attached Files"Cutlery confused Stalin"
