You should go on Eventis and finish the message Ouro.

        *bump*

Seems our Lord of Diplomacy, Octavian is too busy increasing his waist by eating xenodoughnuts. Anyway, is anyone interested in position of ambassador to Spartan Federation?

Also, how about this table of diplomatic relations:

        1. degree - temporary Treaty of Friendship

        2. degree - Treaty of Friendship unlimited by time

        3. degree - Treaty of Friendship and research treaty

        4. degree - Mutual Defense pact (both factions remain in Treaty of Friendship, but if someone declares war on them they ally against the agressor)

        5. degree - Pact of Brotherhood

Illum, on Eventis you made reference to a message I was supposed to convey to the Angels.... Where did you post this message? I haven't been able to find any. This is where I presumed such messages would be posted..... or maybe we should have a pair of topped threads, as the embassys for disscussion of messages to other factions, one for Sparta, one for DA?

I was reffering to a post made in turn planning thread, about notifying Angels we are at war with Hive (except the idea of the message, contents of it are free to the ambassador ). I was also afraid that Angels learnt about vendetta with Hive, and they were trying to ask us sth about it, so I added the line about conveying the message to make it appear we intended to do so before them. Nothing to worry Ouro , you are doing a good job. Currently, I don't have the time to update the correspondence threads, but I believe I could do it next weekend. I presume that discussions should be made in diplo threads, but I made my remark in turn planning thread- perhaps you should at least skim to them. I will repeat it next time in the diplo contact thread too.

I read most threads naturally, as long as my account doesn't mess up and tell me I've read it already.... But, as a favor to me, could you usually repost in threads that stay at the top? With turn planning threads, after that turn is played, I probably will never see it again....

When I remember, I put important information like treaties/vendettas in the Annual Reports thread.

Diplomatic issues: Spartans have infiltrated Hive, and thus can buy Morgans commlink - barter with them for it?

Also, should we try and add 5 year no trade clause to our deals with Angels, like with Spartans?

If we obtain Doctrine: Loyalty from Hive - should we trade it to Spartans (that project would make Spartans pwoerful, since it would amplify their abbilities).

We should be willing to trade to the Spartans anything we get from the Hive, since they could get it themselves with a probe team or negotiations.

I've never been worried about technologies being traded on, except to my enemies, since hopefully I've already arranged all the profitable trading I can, and whatever the other factions can also arrange is fine. A 1-2 year period would be long enough to let us get in all the trades we can before allowing another bidder to get involved.

Morgan's commlink would be convenient, since then all of the factions would be in contact (assuming the Angels traded for it somehow). However, we have little to offer the Morganites right now in trade, so we should put off this acquisition.
