It doesn't work that way, simple as that. I think it's fair, really - If you're not fit for the army, you won't have to do anything. Army is sort of "the #1 choice" in the eyes of the army, and civil service happens only if you explicitly want to do it. If you want to refuse service altogether, there's prison.

It's a bit hard to explain... it's perhaps the same reason women aren't ordered to civil service (at times of peace anyway): bad karma to force people with disabilities to do anything.

Besides, I don't want to help dilute the conception of civil service being a cop out for those who can't take it but couldn't get a C certificate or the like. It devalues the worth of the service, which to the society can be considered greater than that of armed service. You'll be working with minimal pay as opposed to going around shooting the taxes up to the sky...

No, but they do have a Belgium beer list to rival almost any Belgium bar. Chimay, Duval, some various strong infused ones that I can't name - they have about 20 bottles of different stuff. All very good Not too expensive either, most around £2-3 at most
