  • Several CC MY 2156 issues

There are a few minor matters GeoModder and I don't agree about, so a poll is the obvious solution then.
If possible, please wait with voting until GeoModder has reacted.

The first issue is about the impact cruiser in Thermal Tassagrad.
    Should we:
    a) move it a bit south and bombard the PEACE crawler near Megabyteville, giving the crawler a higher chance to be destroyed by the boy scout nearby.
    b) move it two squares north (after some patrolling in the west to check for PEACE ships) so it is in striking range of Calico Island for next year.
    c) write-in

The second issue is about the boy scout that can attack a PEACE crawler. The odds are currently 16 to 15 - some 50% chance of victory (and defeat) - though that may improve if a bombard is agreed upon. We don't know how much damage a bombard can do though. Should we:
    a) attack the crawler
    b) attack the crawler, but only if a majority is in favour of bombarding first
    c) return the boy scout to Megabyteville.
    d) write-in

A third issue is what to build in Zetaris. Should we build a:
    a) crawler
    b) children's creche
    c) write-in

(Personal opinion: Zetarian base growth is unexistent, and it hardly has inefficiency problems, so I don't see the use for a CC).

A fourth issue is what to build in Apolyton Prime.
    a) recycling tanks
    b) crawler
    c) write-in

(Personal opinion: if we're going to raise sea levels, building recycling tanks aren't a good investment IMHO, as we might need to build pressure domes in some base in the near future, which have the same effect as recycling tanks.)

Here I am, dinner and recharging, ya now...

      Ok, about the Impact cruiser:
There is no real need IMO to let it go to Calico. By the time it is there the impact cruiser at Calico can take it in the next turn since PEACE can impossibly produce a new defender. First the present production needs to be finished. I endorse bombard the crawler so the Impact Cruiser can escort our transport that goes to Pampalona next turn. I fear those hidden PEACE boats a bit (2 are missing).

      For the crawler attack:
I endorse bombarding (but I am unsure if it wouldn't help much) in combination of a try-out attack to check the odds then. The scout can still return inbase if the odds are still to low.

      Zetaris production:
      I change to a write-in for a Missile Cruiser.
Why: With what Maniac told me about Children's Creche unable to break the growth stagnation (is that really so?) I'm unsure to build that facility. Further, since our territorial waters are constantly getting larger, an increase in our fleet is in order.

      Apolyton Prime production:
Pressure dome in ApPr is unnecessary, the base is way inland and surrounded by high-altitude tiles, but a production increase is always taken (build quicker supply crawlers , and RecTanks cost nothing. Unless off course we're thinking of really drowning the planet?

The effect of a CC on Zetaris right now would be that 15 instead of 21 nutrients would need to be accumulated in the nutrient box before the base grows. But since Zetaris' current nutrient surplus is a big zero, this won't make a difference.

It's hard to determine to what length we should try to raise sea levels, without knowledge of the Hive-Drones maps etc. Hopefully we'll have a clearer picture in the future.
But that aside, IMHO a crawler is almost always more profitable than a recycling tanks. It costs less, it's more mobile, and when we would be faced with a military invasion, we can disband it for minerals to build military units.

I agree to build up a larger fleet. Only Zetaris doesn't have a large mineral production now, so it would take some 8 years before that cruiser is built. How about first building some more crawlers , or rehoming a few crawlers to Zetaris before starting military production there?

Btw, obstructor, GeoModder has voted (the opposite of mine ). so whoever votes next can decide what to play in the turn. IIRC these are the only few things left before I can send on the turn.

Yes, we're at 2157 PUT turn now. Download it in the main forum. Not much to be done about that turn momentarily, for the next few turns defense units are to be produced and finishing some facilities.
