How exactly do you intend to keep the local citizens under control? We don't yet have even the most rudimentary Drone control facilities, so trying to control size 16 bases would be a nightmare.
With the Virtual World being hurried and being Peacekeepers it wouldn't take that much. With rec commons and a couple of specialists it would probably be no more problem than if we had FM and didnt grow as much.

Its possible with the University on Transcend without *too* much trouble, so drones shouldn't be much of a problem here.

The UoP has free network nodes. So from the moment they have the Virtual World, of course they can go FM without any problem. The PKs are a little different. We first need to build up all the necessary drone structures. This is best done under a planned economy.

Indeed. It starts to be annoying at size 30, when you waste 10 specialists...
Size 30 requires Hab Domes. Any game being played properly shouldn't require them, because tech will never get that far.
FM now will get us a guarenteed Pact with Morgan, who can support us with tech against the University. Most importantly, we'll get Doc Flex without having to research it ourselves.

That's true in MP where everyone starts smashing each other's skull the moment they get D:AP or even sooner. But I promise in this game we won't actively go conquer everyone and we might reach Hab domes unless we go for a diplomatic victory.
i agree with maniac this game of, for me, not to win but on the other side size 30 i usually 'take care' of bases like that to not grow any more

If we try to unify the world diplomatically, we might triumph and our faction be disbanded before ever learning the technology to create the huge metropolises described.
But why should we jump to that conclusion? It hasn't yet been decided whether we would want to unify the seven factions, or continue to exist and prosper as the Peacekeepers. There are many among our population who prefer each option. Does it make sense to say that if we're doing things right, we won't obtain the technology -- when there are so many other possibilities regarding just what is "right?"
I reckon we should keep the game going to Transcendance. Diplomatic victory seems almost a little too easy for Peacekeepers, especially if we get the Empath Guild, even though it is in character.
