At the end of today's turnchat, we encountered Morgan Industries and acquired Planetary Networks, Industrial Economics and Ethical Calculus in exchange for Doctrine: Mobility, Applied Physics and our world map, as well as signing a Treaty of Friendship.

We don't know enough about him to decide on anything like that yet. Wait until we can infiltrate him, then decide.

Or even worse, the Hive. I'm having perpetual nightmares of encountering in a few decades a monstrously huge Hive that started in the Monsoon Jungle and has covered two entire continents, with a cozy Pact with a large expanded Miriam, and the Gaians and the Uni and whatnot either reduced to rubble or subjugated.

since we got planetary networks from him, i say we build a probe in mysidia, or in NS after the VW is finished...or lost to others

i do think we should get a pact with him for the time being, to get his tech, then if we switch SE to planned, he'll break it off, and we're left with his tech and his maps

Agreed. Make the switch to FM for both the appeasment and the research/cash flow bonus, and try to secure a Pact with him. That'll only bring in even more research/cash flow from the increase in trade.

Of course, we need to infiltrate as well, no doubts there, but I wouldn't recommend any other probe actions unless there's no chance of his detecting us. If that can be achieved...then bribe away a few things from "Morgan military surplus" so we won't be forced to build those prototypes ourselves.

I have started a poll on SE changes.

According to the state of our bases right now, changing to FM would instantly cause drone riots in a few bases, including both NA and New Suex, the SP cities. There's a little more on it in my poll thread, but I strongly advise against FM right away, until we can get some considerable number of happiness facilities online. Either that or disband all our exploring military units, as each one out of its city will cause +2 drones in its home.
