Already the left wing press has shown their colors by printing half truths and complete fiction about a candidate that has any kinds of values. This question was never aksed nor answered. Our paryer service was almost 3 hours, not one and when it ended there was no one there to ask any questions.

This is a reason to leade a coup? This is a bad thing? My personal hope and prayer is that our new planet never faces the threat of nuclear war. I would be most happy if a bann was placed on nuclear weapons by ALL factions. But then again I suppose true peace is a Fundamentalist dream as well?

I would ask the press to please spend more time speaking on the facts than on cooks and wild conjecture. We left the ills of earth behind us, let us not bring one of them, a National Enquirer, with us.

I implore you not to lie to the public, Mr. Commissioner, as that only serves to damage you. Your prayer did indeed only last one hour, as our agent inside your prayer hour was actually taking time on a stopwatch concelled within him, and we did wait approximately an hour before you and your followers came out.

Just because we can do a thing does not mean we should do that thing. Scinece for the pure sake of science is wrong. Research without a moral rudder leads to destruction. Look at the building of Bio and Chemical weapons on earth. Sure we had the ability to make them but should we have? Of course not, look at the harm that was done to EVERYONE!

Technology, Progress, Science in general are good things, provided they have direction and purpose. Left to themselves and allowed to run wild they lead to senseless destruction.

I want a large research department in our colony, but research that has a direction and a goal. That is why I have given my support in this area to TKG. With hsi leadership in the scientific community we will not have a haphazard approach to research but a set of predefined goals.

So Mr. Editor please do not confuse a desire to provide some guidance and wisdom to research with lack of doing so.

As for the hour prayer, I suggest it is time you send your report to buy a new watch. Also possibly a new method of taking an interview, perhaps by actually having the person he is interviewing there with him. Your reporters so called quote is a pure fabrication. Especially when seen in light of private meetings I have had with various leaders of the opposing factions where I have sworn my attempts would be to preserve the freedom of all, even the opposition, nothing was ever said of dealing with or crushin them, as your reported stated.

Until quite recently, weren't the invention of nuclear weapons a deterrant from many wars occouring (namely the soviet-american 'cold' war, and the following american-chinese 'cold war'.) If nuclear weapons were not in the hands of the two sides, then war would have occoured. Do you not agree?

The Middle East was continuing to kill themselves every day, and being technologically backwards did not help. By the time the Unity launched, shielding, medicine...all defensive and humanitarian technologies had advanced far from the 2002 boiling point. However the Middle East (when the unity left, of course) is still far away from having such things because they are technologically backwards.

However, if they were not quite as religious as they are, most historians agree that they would have advanced into both the industrial and digital revoltuions.

More lies to the public. This also happend qutie a bit in the Middle East (aka Religiouslly Fundamentliats) countries. The leaders simpy lied to the people and attempted to banish all free press and nearly all free thought. Have we just elected someone who will continue the tradition?

This is where i think you're wrong, science itself isn't wrong, in fact i find it a noble goal to learn more about ourselves and the world around us, it's the people that misuse science that are immoral, just like the people who misuse religion to justify wars.

Well I must say, everyone here seems to have "weak literacy skills" and the "desire for entertainment" as the number of UNN newspapers sold is skyrocketing.....I suspect the next edition will make me rich.

The only people whom have not bought it are your religious fundamentalists and considering you have only about, hmm, 100 members...No big loss on sales. And I find it odd how yet again, religious fundies are out of step with everyone else. Don't you?

I agree with Lemmy completely on this point; science for the sake of science, knowledge for the sake of knowledge, it is the driving factor research. A scientist does not work in their field with an expectation of finding some practical use to their discoveries, rather they do it to extend the limits of our knowledge of the universe and ourselves.

As for science itself, it is how you use it that depends on if it is “good” or “evil” (subjectively speaking of course). I believe it was best summarized by Richard Dawkins:

"People certainly blame science for nuclear weapons and similar horrors. It's been said before but needs to be said again: if you want to do evil, science provides the most powerful weapons to do evil; but equally, if you want to do good, science puts into your hands the most powerful tools to do so. The trick is to want the right things, then science will provide you with the most effective methods of achieving them."
