Provincial Survivalists Constitution:
- All Citizens have the right to bear arms.
- All Citizens have the right to take part in all faction decisions.
- All Spartans may become a Citizen either by completing 5 years of military service, or by being retired wounded during that period, when they shall be promoted to officer rank.
- All Spartans may take part in voting.
- All government officials are to be serving officers of the Spartan Milita with at least 5 years service.
- All ranks of Lieutenant and above (i.e. Spartan Officers) are elected ranks. All promotions and demotions are by election by the Citizens.
- No Spartan, Citizen, Soldier or worker is to be denied access to faction information.
- Millitary law is above all other laws, civil, moral and constitutional.
- No Spartan may surrender in battle and retain his/her rights as a Citizen.

Proposal of Spartan Structure

We should aim for a decentralised "spiderweb" government, not a "tree" or "column" structure.

In the middle should go the turnplayer of the moment.

All around him/her should be other posts that feed information into the centre of the web. The turnplayer should have no responsibilities to gather info, just to eat it, plan the turn and spit out the reports.
The "strands" of the web have the job of organising polls, elections, policy decisions, tech progress, SE settings, base placement, terraforming etc. Noone should be fixed in a post, but everyone should try and help each other out to give the turnplayer as much info as possible.

Anyone can be the leader - and we should regularly select a new one.

Available official positions in the Spartan War Machine:
The Turnplayer - Commander in Chief which can be shortenend to CiC
The person to authorise others into our forum - Director of Domestic Operations or Quartermaster
A person who is the "official" contact point with other factions - Minister of Propaganda.

Due to the military nature of our faction, it would probably be best if all position titles could be converted into TLAs.

Commander in Chief seems to be well accepted by now. I suggest we keep it.
The CiC will have the rank of Colonel (ie: Colonel Maniac or Colonel Jamski)
The 2iC will have the rank of Lt.Col.

While Quartermaster suits, it doesn't lend itself to shortening very well. QM to my mind sounds too similar to GM or DM.
DDO seems ok, but I would like to see the first initial as A or I. If we could think of something appropriate that started with either letter...

Minister of Propaganda sounds fine. That is, until you TLA it into MoP. Which may be appropriate considering the military view of the media. :shrug:

Should we discuss the way we deal out the positions within the war machine in the non-Poly private forum, or wait 'til we get our Poly privat forum, or just talk about it here openly? It would appear that only Maniac and I are reading the non-Poly forum.

If you mean how to decide who gets what position, I'd simply say: "Whoever is interested, gets it." In ACDG2 we never had two candidates for the same position. It just went informally like "You want that position this month? Okay I'll take the other one then instead. " If there are multiple candidates, we can always hold a small poll.

If you mean about the names for the positions, there have already been many many proposals for that. So I'd just wait until we have a private forum. Then we can hold a poll about it with all options in it.

There's of course the question what position to have.

IIRC Skanky wants to limit it to the turnplayer, the faction moderator and an official foreign ambassador. I wouldn't mind creating two extra positions whose job it would be to organize internal affairs and military affairs and turn all the discussions into a formal orderset, but either is fine for me.
