THE HIVE - GLORIOUS ETERNAL FRIENDS
Why the University and the Hive Can - Together - Unite the World Under the Banner of SOCIALISM
Editorial By Tassadar
UNIVERSITY BASE, MAY 15: Finally, we had founded our first city - University Base. Nearly everything was complete from the Public Information Knowledge Access Terminal and Intellectual Recreation Center (PIKATIRC, prounounced "Peeka Turk") to the "Human Biology Research Center" (of course, for adults only) and even the houses were complete. It all seemed very glorious.
My feet tapped across the floor in an almost hypnotic rythem as I made my way towards The University Tribune building, which was one of the largest building in the University.
There was a light artifical breeze going through the city, and the flags of Communism on the TUT building were flying gloriously. I got out my keycard (arcain technology, yes, but it's still fun to swipe the card through instead of putting your finger on some uncomfortable wall.) and swiped it through. The computer made sounds.....well, that a computer would make, and then the light turned green and I entered.
I had been here before, but it was still being built then. Now, the walls were nearly finished...It was a beautiful mix of marble and jade, but it was damage resistent. Meaning the building would stay as beautiful as it is today. And, of course, glorious posters of socialism were hung around everywhere to remind people of our great beginnings.
All the peoples love the Chinese edition of the CHIRONIAN NEWS NETWORK!
I continued to walk towards my office when I noticed something. Someone, certainly not I, had authorized a Pravda section of the TUT. Pravda, the official state newspaper of the Hive, and the TUT had very shaky relations stemming from the debate of "Freedom of Speech" and "Fair and Balanced Journalism", and at the time I had no intention of affiliating with them in any way.
However despite my hatred for them, I decided to press the button to enter the room..........And all I can say is that I was both amazed and inspired.
I found several glorious posters blastered through the room, a few of which praising TUT for its fair and balanced journalism. Because I'm such a nice person, I've decided to scan them here for you:
The peoples of the Hive and University shall unite together to achieve glorious cultural advancement!
Together with the military superiority of the Hive and the technological superiority of the University, we shall create new empires!
All the news agencies of the world shall unite together for fair and balanced representation of all the masses!
The University is Glorious!!! The Hive is Glorious!
Such displays of friendship, even after our falling out, changed my feelings towards the Hive. Yes, they do tend to nerve staple too many people and many they silence political dissidents, but how important is that compared to our glorious friendship?
We share many of the same ideals. We want whats best for our people, and we want world-wide socialist revolution. And, as one of the posters mentioned, with the Universties technological superiority and the Hives military might maybe, just maybe, we'll be able to achieve our goal.
Long live the Hive! Long live the University!!
