Well, if I was in charge of setting up your political structure ( ) I'd organize it in the same basic way they do at the PTW DG RP team; you find appoint a Chairman who has basically unlimited power and can be brought down only by an internal coup (that is, a majority vote to have him replaced). Extra flavour can be added (like executions), depending on how much you like roleplaying.

I can see this faction (HIVE) start with a number of dictators and then they gradually whittle themselves, by coup and executions, down to one. Then we'll step in and string him/her from the yardarms after the statutory keel haul.

Re Pirates: Pirates actually operated a democratic system, many having escaped from the oppressive run regular navy schemes. They also had worked out a fair system for sharing l3wt.

With a few more sea faring members we'll soon be able to steal ourselves a nice fast Sloop.

While most of the other factions discuss research nerdy stuff, we'll be drinking xeno rum, with some fine doxies, sailors, or sturdy matelots (whatever's your thing) beside us as we design our own particulr Skull and Crossbones flag.
