SMAC only Democracy Game

Some players have only SMAC without the expansion.
Therefore I would like to ask these persons in particular, what they think about playing a democracy game using only the original SMAC release. Those who have the expansion, please remember, this thread pertains to demogame in SMAC.

There is a new SMAX-SMAniaC demogame in setup, but this is not the same, when players cannot load in a turn and tweak with stuff. You know... not to mention, if someone never saw before fungal towers or resonance armor etc.

I thought about SMAC multiplayer here.

Sounds good, the only non-smac faction last game were the DA in any event.

There is also possibility to play custom factions. However, since game would be foremost for persons, who did not play any AC demogames, since they were smax, using original factions may still be prefered

In any case, I'm not really interested. Standard SMAC/X feels so boring and unbalanced now IMO.

smac1? Do you mean you only own vanilla SMAC, but not the expansion pack?
