  • My god I have to click to many times to start the game!

    1) I double click the icon on my desktop
    2) then I select either play the game, or play the game (DX9) - I choose the first
    3) then I select either DX11 version or the DX9 version - I choose the first, i also used this option screen to create a DX11 short cut, but that doesnt help as it still asks this question twice (its the shortcut I used in step 1)
    4) then I have to click bypass all the videos
    5) then I have to click to accept some agreement - why do I have to click this every stinking time?
    6) finally get to the main menu after my clicking finger is exhausted

Firaxis, can please eliminate steps 2 through 5, so I only double click on the desktop icon and I'm taking emmidately to the main menu, no DX choices, no accepting agreements, no videos etc...

The way it is now, i get annoyed with the game before its even launched!

It is a joke that you can't skip the intro movie until 20 seconds into it. What retards tested this?

You must edit a setting to skip the intro video. There's one .ini file for DX9 and one for 10/11 in order to make things more complex, but it's there.

It's 2010, I'm not editing an .ini file to fix an intro video.

It bothers you enough to complain on the internet but not to make a 20 second change to a game file?

I'd never want to be your friend in real life. Eating dinner with you must be horrible.

Post in 2K forums, it has better viability there for Firaxis.

It seems that the only one for the intro video is in UserSettings.ini, there doesn't seem to be one in GraphicsSettingsDX9.ini or in config.ini. The minor nuisance is that you get about 30 seconds of featureless black screen while the thing loads. So your choice: interrupt the video after 30 seconds (or so), or black screen for 30 seconds (or so).

If you hate things being slow, I have to wonder why you're playing a turn-based strategy game. Seriously. WTF?

P.S. The reason why the intro video takes a while before you can skip it, it's because the game is loading in the background while it distracts you with pretty pictures of an old man. Editing the .ini file just means you can stare at a black screen instead.
