Which civ will you play as first?

gonna play as France first, just to test out the extra culture in the start, trying to work down the liberty tree and get early expansions and abuse the civ bonus. minor calculations say that they will have 2 policies by the time others have 1.

25 cult for first, 45 for 2nd and doing 1 vs 3 in the start.

First off I´ll open up the Earth maps and find a nice size for my first game, probably a small version for my first games. Then I´ll place the civilizations, I choose to inhabit this earth with me, in their correct locations(same for City States). Save as Scenario.

As for my first game I think I´ll play as the Chinese and probably be quite militaristic, going into Honor then possibly aiming for Autocracy and/or Order. I might possibly start off as a more "peaceful" Civilization, America or Russia(depending on the Civs I´ll have on my small earth map), and go for a more builder kind of a strategy, just to get a better feel of the game.

Usually what I do is that I´ll be playing Earth maps, Always, and play the different civilizations the way I see them in reality. My own "agenda" I start off with, like Conquering Asia(as Japan) or Europe(as Germans) or Expand like Russia(as Russia) is to day and be come a Superpower on most fields of the game, plus the Civilization traits will determine my play style and actions.

I would start as Russia, but I would rather face her as an opponent. So Babylonia for me. It seems the most appropriate when you start 4000bc. (Egypt could be another choice)

Actually, Rome is about all I play ... all the way back to civ2!

I voted for America, because that's what I normally do, but I may also play Babylon (got the deal at D2D), depending on their ability and uniques. I've always liked the Babylonians.

Edit: Rome is probably second or third... their ability looks like a good match for my builder playstyle.

I have high hopes for the unique traits; I'll probably play the civ with the most interesting one.

I always start as Rome. It weas my favorite Civ in Civ I (Or was it II, its been so long) adn it has become a tradion of sorts with me.

Rome. Its traditional! Civ I, II, III, IV...and V. Rome comes first. I may not play Rome much lately in Civ IV (I like to mix things around--right now in a long game with a friend, playing as Stalin). But Rome is a good way to "kick the tires"
