This. I'd have to look at the Civ4 tree to be absolutely sure, but it seems like there are significantly fewer techs in the tree seen in the video.

"Jungle gives 2 sick faces (sick faces are still in!?) "

They are not sick faces. They are apples. I think apples = bread = food

edit: bread makes much more sense as an icon than apples..

Yea, there definitely seems to be less tech than in Civ4. But then again we all think of BTS, which has more tech than in vanilla. So perhaps by the time they put out two or three expansion packs there will be a comparable amount of tech.

Also, Sailing now encompasses the ability to fish as well as build sailing vessels & harbors. Lighthouse moved to Optics, I think?
The first screen shot of the tech tree doesn't cover the first row of techs. You can see the scroll bar isn't all the way to the left.

It doesnt look as if there is any unit "facing" though.

One point that hasnt been noted yet is that the single unit per hex will not be a combined-arms mixture of fighting types (queried in another thread). Such a setup will make the unit promotions that improve a units flexibility (if such exist in Ci V ) to deal with non-standard foes a better choice. i.e. instead of promoting a spearman to make it a super anti-cav specialist it might be more useful to give it a promotion that improves its chance of defeating an ax- or swordsman unit.

Yeah, enhance the unit with with some of their own swords or archers/muskets.
