My current computer is a Dell mini10 netbook. So yes.

The computer is single core, so I'll have to see how that goes as I adjust to the game and advance up the map sizes.
Conflict: saving for both a new computer near year end and an iPad (primarily for e-books) a half year earlier. At least my monitor is good.
I'll be sticking with my vintage 2007 Dell system regardless, though, and not upgrading it (anymore than I already have) for Civ alone, at least. The only exception is if my current system breaks down, in which case I'm still not sure I'd be willing to spend enough for a veritable upgrade this year.

Nope. I might be willing to upgrade the video card but even that change is unlikely to be necessary. We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

We'll see. More ram and bigger video card maybe or whole thing if that's really necessary. PROVIDED that Civ V is not Civ III redux. As noted, we'll see.No matter where you go, there you are. - Buckaroo Banzai

Personally I thought that Civ3 was still a better game than Civ2 and worth buying though. (Not a better game for it's time than Civ2, but a better game overall)

My computer is pushing three years old so it's pretty much time to buy a new one. I know they said the game would be released in fall 2010 but I suspect it won't be out until Sep-Nov just in time for the Xmas buying season so I'll aim on buying a computer around the same time.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

I just hope the game doesn't bog down horribly like Civ 4 did for me. I don't know if it was my card, my memory, or just the game itself, but some stuff just took forever. My #1 hope for Civ 5 is that they streamline the engine so I don't have to spend long periods of time between turns or in some cases just getting one units to move.

I bought a new desktop for IV so it's about time to buy a new one anyway. I hope the laptop I bought two years ago will still be good enough. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple
