No "Road Spaghetti" in civ5

    The examples that Jaybe and rah mention do offer some logic behind the lack of ability to use enemy roads. But, it seems more that they should lessen the speed some, but not completely. In Civ IV, using an enemy road is considered the same as moving through bad terrain such as jungle or hills. That's just not right.

    Let's hope there is a more logical appoach in Civ V.

      I assume that in Civ4 invading armies do not use the road.
      When you're invading a country, why would you do so open to see for everyone on the road, being a sitting duck?

      Of course you avoid the roads and travel through the countyside, hiding behind trees.
      Now it suddenly makes sense!

      edit: so there should be 2 options: travel quickly using roads or travel slowly but 25% defense bonus next to the roads.
