Electricity in Civ5

Nuclear waste disposal seems to be scientifically possible. However, it seems to be politically impossible in the near- and long-term. Yucca Mountain is closed and even nuclear-capable dictatorships have the NIMBY problem. If you wish to build the facility, expect lots of local resistance as long as it operates. Note a lot of states are short on huge deserts with mountains.
Anybody know if electricity actually is an issue in the developing Civ V? In Civ IV and earlier the railroads sort of functioned as communication lines too; but electric lines did not exist.
Anybody think tranformer farms sound like sewer systems from an, ahem, earlier civ?No matter where you go, there you are. - Buckaroo Banzai

Well,
german players had electricity in Civ from Civ 1 on
(although it was rather because in every part of Civ the in the powergraph the word "power" was mistranslated into the german word "electrizität" instead of using a term that would be more correct in this context, like "Stärke" for example [something that regularly lead newer players to wonder, how it is possible that stone age civilizations have electricity])

Tamsin (Lost Girl): "He has fallen in battle and I must take him to the Einherjar in Valhalla"
