Thank you again DanQ. How's Civ World doing these days?

Sounds like a solid lineup for this episode—always enjoy when Dave “davec” comes back on, the discussions get a nice mix of perspectives. The title “Might Have To Login Now” is pretty fitting too, given how often SCivCast sparks that urge to jump back into the game. Can’t wait to give the full 29 minutes a listen! Mail Monitor

Funny coming across this thread all these years later. “Might Have To Login Now” aged pretty well as a title, given Civ World didn’t stay around long after this episode. As far as I remember, Firaxis shut it down not long after, so anyone who never logged in missed their chance.

It was an interesting experiment, though. The idea of a whole team of players building one civilization together, with people taking on roles like scientist, general or banker, was genuinely different from anything else in the series. It just never quite fit the Facebook model, where everything was built around energy timers and waiting.

Good to see PolyCast and the spin-offs are still remembered. Shame it was the RevCast and SCivCast crowd who had to sit through the timers! Did any of the co-hosts stick with Civ World right to the end? link
