I usualy use Fireball from CHAOS SPELL list, but not as Magician spell ability.

The Fireball form Magicians usually sucks pretty bad. What's worse, when you put the combat in auto they ALWAYS cast that first and then get wiped out.

that's an important point... and with dark elve warlocks the same. they even use doom bolt on creatures with a resistance of more than 10.

True...BUT..... Doom Bolt ignores resistance and armor and everything, it even injures paladins.

If you put the combat in auto you're asking to get wiped out. You've seen how badly the AI runs its own units--why would you ever let it near yours?

I'm refering to when you have a stack that you know is going to win, so once you cast whatever spells you like or setup your army, you just hit auto so you don't have to do all the clicking. I rarely do it, and, like I said, never with magicians.

wait... I'm certain Doom Bolt doesn't work on certain creatures. I know they use it on creatures it doesn't have effect on

It says it does 10 points of damage, regardless of defenses.

Yes but even halfling spearmen are pretty tough if they are elite. And I know that slingers can destroy Magicians. It usually takes 3 or 4 but they CAN do it. If they elite or better.

3 or 4? 4 magicians usually suffice to take out 9 of the lot, not always though.

Death magic can be so gamebreaking if AI enemies don't have proper magic.

Wow... you beat the game with one shadow demon (was it the regenerating plane shifter?) and a pack of werewolves? The opposition didn't propably have life books?
