    FlameFlash:

USB support is rock-solid with 8.5.1, although I only have the keyboard and mouse using the slots. I can upgrade to 8.6, but I have plans to buy a new computer sometime before winter, so I'm not going to bother with it. Although the idea of downloading and installing 8.6 w/o having to reinstall third-party software makes the idea a wee bit more tempting.

That's cool... but yeah... you don't have to do any reinstalling though you may want to take a look through your Extensions Manager prior to installing 8.6 if you do install it. That way you'll know what's changed and be able to turn the other extensions (if any) that are needed for your programs back on.

Conflict Catcher 8 (though the latest version is 9) is good as well. I have that and once I start using OS X a lot I'll probably spring for Conflict Catcher 9, which just has a lot of good features for those of us who use Classic a lot.

I shall keep that in mind. Thanks.
