I'll browse through my Mac books and see what I find.
After giving the MPG book and game menus a quick look, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to reassign the keys. There are numerous single-key shortcuts in the game, and it would be hard not to interfere with them. I always move with the keypad, so I understand your problem. However, the number keys still function the same (1 on the top row and keypad both move units Southwest (diagonal, down left)), although it would take some time to get accustomed to moving that way. You can also move by mouse/touch pad.
Well, if I or anyone else figures out a way to deal with the keyboard we'll pop you a PM or an email. What you could do to checkout Civ2 is download the Civ2 demo at the MacSoft site. The regular Civ2 game differs only slightly from MPG and would give you an idea of how it would work on a laptop.| quote: ... isn't really necessary. The PowerBook has a numeric keypad overlaid on the keyboard (over the 7, 8, 9, u, i, o, j, k, and l keys). You can access them by using the "fn" key. It's not as nice has having a numeric keypad, but it does allow you to use the movement keys. -Brian -- Brian S. Nesse Principal Software Engineer |
