I apologize profusely! Usually, when someone sends me a scenario, I play it a little first to make sure that it works then I take the working files and recompress with StuffIt. In this case I just posted the most recent zip file that Michael Lacy sent me just to hurry up and post it since it had been so long!

As you noticed, StuffIt expander seems to have a problem with ZipIt files! The whole reason that I bought StuffIt Ver. 5.5 was specifically to handle zip files! Needless to say I'm not real happy and yes, Aladdin Systems WILL be hearing from me! In the mean time there is a shareware program called ZipIt available at http://www.maczipit.com . I just downloaded it and used ZipIt to expanded the Dark Tower zip file; worked like a charm! Plus you can use it to expand Chris "Wulf" Beijner's Convert Scenario V.1.1 and Delevent AppleScripts!

Again, I apologize and I will add some of these notes to the the scenario page at the next update.

With Stuff it, there is no problem to unstaff a zip-file. But the problem is: The unstuffed folder of Dark Tower doesn't contain a .scn-file!

I've the same problem with the other offered downloadable scenarios on the same page. Neither "Archer" or "Sagan" doesn't work. Stuffit, Maczip, nothing is useful.

Ya,the first one was a .sit format I think but it was missing a bunch of sounds. This one comes thru as a simpletext file. What I find easiest is to compress that simpletext to .hqx with Dropstuff. Then drop it on Stuffit in the normal way.Presto.

I would suggest that anyone who post MAC stuff do it with a .sit file or preferably a .hqx.We got MACS because...well..we're stupid when it comes to computers. The less a downloadee has to do the better.

And..don't compress with the latest version. That just means another download is needed to decompress for a lot of people.

Then again,I still use 8.5.1.I am resistant to change.

You know, I've been thinking that using "Self-Expanding Archives", (SEA) might solve some of these problems. I THINK StuffIt 5.5 supports batch compression, I'd have to look; I'd hate to turns all the scenarios into one 30 MB sea file! Would this be helpful do you think?
