  • Help making scenarios

I am sure lots of people need help with making scenarios, but I have one question : How do i rename the other Tribes? In the Tribe Editor, I can't click in the Tribe Adjective text box that says the tribe's name, and there is no option for renaming the tribe in the Rename Default Values area. What gives?

You do it with the actual cheat menu/edit king/pick a civ/edit name.It should then show up in the editor.

check out the Scenario League(link at bottom of page)

i have another question - how do you use a new icon for a unit? i went into the edit units thing under the scenario menu, and i had files called "UNITS.PICT" "UNITS.GIF" and "UNITS.BMP". all of them were graphic converter files, but it would only recognize the pict, and when i tried to open it it would say "The file must be a BMP or GIF". so what's the deal? thanks

Hmmm..that I'm not too sure on.I know that MAC uses .pict.

I'm not 100% sure but I think changes are best done in the .gif format and then converted.
1 reason for me is it means someone else did all the work

          Pixels have to be exact.

          have a look here

              I'm afraid no.
You have to rename all the files into .pict (units, terrain, cities ..)
              otherwise it is not recognizable.

It's strange. There are several instances where the Mac version seems to recognize and work with PC scenarios and their gif files (see an old thread by Finbar) and other time where a scenario's gif images MUST be converted to pict (eh Mike.doc ) most noteably the Peloponeasian War. I remember that Valmont used to talk about color problem when editing unit images. You might dig through some older theads both in the Mac and Creation forums.
