  • Speaking as an impartial observer here, I can't help pointing out that it is a well understood rule that you don't attack the friends or familiy of other posters to score points. Especially given that they are unable to defend themselves. It seems common ground that Drake and Agathon have been indulging their vendetta with Asher/Glonk by attacking his SO. I'm surprised the mods havn't taken a more direct line on this - especially given the hissy fit that Ming [quite rightly] engaged in when someone was abusive about his family. Perhaps the fact that Asher has shown no real evidence of being really hurt by the behaviour explains this but, If I were responsible, both Drake and Agathon would be serving an exceedingly long restriction for this behaviour.

Perhaps, if nothing else given that Asher has clearly had his revenge, Ming or another mod could, for clarity, confirm that the rules on attacking friend/family/SO stand and that any future occurrance will be punished.

    • The only reason they keep doing it is because the first time they did it I got pretty pissed off. Since nothing was done about it by the mods aside from a warning (what good that has done), I've simply tried to make light of it so as to not give them satisfaction and hopefully discourage them from constantly using it every time they get their ass kicked in a debate or, in this case, when I get to be a scapegoat for their bad behavior.

Well... boo hoo. You can't prevent an opposing point of view in off topic discussions unless they go against the rules of the site. Simply because someone posts something in your Mac threads that you don't agree with doesn't give you license to go into on-topic forums and flaunt the rules.
Look, I'm no Mac person, I almost never use Mac, I dont sympathise them, I wouldnt even buy Mac, that was just my observation. When I hear something about Macs, I always think "hey lets give thise guys a chance, afterall many nice innovations were first introduced by Apple"

It's just not very constructive if someone pops in and immediately starts to beat Macs to the ground - always. Good Lord always, I have never seen Asher say anything positive or even friendly about Apple. its like Steve Jobs would have raped him when hi was a kid or something. Very disturbing. Thats all.

PS. Could somebody tell this non anglo-americain what the h3ll is an SO?

Well, I believe its Significant Other.

Concerning what took place here in the mac forum, I'm disappointed. Several of the mac guys have been posting here (Apolyton) for a while, and its unfortunate that they may be going elsewhere. It may just be a website, but its still a community.

Since threads were considered to be off-topic by Ming, then so be it. But what occurred here days ago, is beginning again. As I posted in one of those heated threads, "Take it outside." Its apparent that members are showing up here now for partisan reasons. Let it go and move on.

As an Apolyton member who would like for some sense of normality to return to the mac forum, I ask that this thread be locked. Ming, would you lock this thread? Please? In fact, deleting all the posts but your warning (for a few days at least) would be a positive move.

            • Drake Tungsten has been restricted... and Asher, you will stop trolling and baiting people, or you will be restricted without warning.

And I agree that this thread should be closed. It was open to let people blow off a little steam and to make sure that people understood exactly why, since most people seem to think that they have a right to abuse a forum... but some people have gone way over the line.

If I see any more personal attacks in ANY THREAD because of this... I'm just going to restrict people without any warning...
