How can you feel back-stabbed when we PC gamers have Civilization IV plus Beyond the Sword, which I don't think it would be an exaggeration to call the definitive version of Civilization? I mean really.

Personally, I'm hoping they're able to pull this off since I'd love to have Civilization for my Nintendo DS to take on the road with me.
Because it's about credibility. I'm not saying make it exclusive for PC's; I'm saying release a PC version as well as console versions; why are they cutting some (or is it a lot) of us out? Especially considering Firaxis may not have done so successfully without people like us.

I'm not sure how it makes Firaxis seem "less credible" to release a console version of a game? If anything, CivRev appears to be an attempt to make sure the console gamers aren't cut out of Civ. Of course it has to be different because vanilla CivIV-BtS just won't work on a console.

            Of Civilisation Revolution?

Of a similar game that is more complex than CivRev

                I don't like Civ3 and 4. Civ1 and 2 I have over-played and can't go back to.

But from what I have seen, there is a good chance I would enjoy CivRev.

Your problem sn00p, is you have too high expectations of firaxis. Myself, i view anything done by any company with some skepticism and expect the company could do whatever is allowed in order to rake in cash. If that means making PC games, all good and well....

Please. My expectations are certainly not high; what is the reason for not releasing a PC version? I'm not asking them to build an MMORPG.

Reason for not releasing a PC version, at least for now, is that the costs may outweigh the sales. After all, Civ fans may look at CivRev, and say they have a more complex gameplay experience in Civ4 (and many believe that console games are all by definition "dumbed down"), so why bother?

And yet the opposite may be true too.

I believe CivRev is the console version of Civilization designed to be playable on TV with a gamepad instead of a mouse and a keyboard and from the ease of a couch. It is probably the first attempt to ship a strategy game of the depth of Civilization to the console world not used to that kind of games.

This might prove to be a clever marketing move after all.

Think of it the other way around. CivRev is just a dumbed down console version of the PC games we already have.

Frankly, the only reason why I'm interested in Civ Revolutions is because this will either invalidate or validate Soren's longstanding claim that it's because of "PC Spec Incompatabilities" that's causing all of the bugs in the new Civ games, rather than because of the incompetence of the coding and testing staffs (*cough* Memory Leaks *cough*).

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up releasing a bug-ridden monstrosity that would best be forgotten. I wouldn't lose sleep over Revolutions too much.
