i actually wasn't offended, just pissed that i was able to predict what was coming. if the slightest detail is wrong or mistaken in anything done for LOTR, then people get in an uproar. it's just a good story. tolkien isn't going to rise from the grave and kill us all if something is the slightest bit inaccurate.

If he did, then everyone involved in the movie production would be immediately stabbed by him. Watching the director and such commentaries on the extended edition, I found that they had actually deviated significantly from the books in some places. But, if they'd stayed true to the books 100%, they really wouldn't've been the great movies they were. There are some literary techniques that just don't work well in cinema.I AM.CHRISTIAN

DrJambo:
Galadriel is a Noldor or "High" Elf and daughter of Finarfin and Earwen. Elrond is a Peredhil or "Half-Elf" being the son of Earendil (son of Dior who was son of Thengel and Melian) and Elwing (daughter of Tuor and Idril, decendent of Turgon).
So while Galadriel is pure Noldor, Elrond is part Noldor (Idril/Turgon), part Silvan (Thengel), part Maia (Melian) and part Man (Tuor).
Galadriel is only 1/4 Noldo. Her mother is full Telerin while her father is 1/2 Noldo and 1/2 Vanya.
Elrond is part everthing: all three Elven races, most of the lines of Men and also a smidgen of Maia.
