I simply give the Air Trade flag to those wonders.

I've added the Olympic Games as a great wonder. It doubles the effects of Colosseums.

Okay. Does it trigger a Golden Age at all?
And maybe you could have a World's Fair as a small wonder? After all, the Space Needle in Seattle and even the Eiffel Tower in Paris were built especially for a World's Fair held in their respective home cities.
      Seattle - 1963, Paris - 19??

I can't make the Olympics trigger Golden Ages in any other way than the usual ones. I don't know what would be its best trait, though.

123john321: I don't understand what you're saying. Can you please reformulate yourself?

Is that a wonder that you have created with the editor, or one that you hope to be included in a future Civ game?

That's very true about the whole Olympics thing. Well, the knowledge that you're going to hold the Olympics creates a lot of growth in a city - new facilities, new stadiums and such. I mean, look at how much Atlanta changed for the '96 games.
And I also like the idea of the Sports League as a small wonder.

                    Don't drink so much...

It will be a kind of unreal, don't you think? I see your point, but knowing what would happen in a 2 years ahead will be quite... strange. I think this is already reflected in the game by letting the nukes survive nuclear attacks. This simulate an "instant" counterattack.

In my opinion, you shouldn't be able to build a spaceship to another star just because you've sent men to the moon. I know this would take a bit of modification, but what about The Mars Project as a small wonder that lets you build spaceship parts. The Apollo Program would be required, of course.

The Mars Project? Would be great with something like that! I feel winning the Space race now is a bit too easy once you start heading for it.

How far away is Alpha Centauri? It's about 4 light years, right? If it is, it's actually possible to reach with today's technology if the project is given enough resources and someone is willing to give up their lifetime for it. I think it's possible to gain 10% of lightspeed meaning it will take 40 years to go there (considering the warriors in Civ3 use 50 years for a single square in the early ages, that's not so bad!).

Way too easy to get there in all the Civ games. Maybe the Mars Project, then development of cryonics (freezing tubes and such) or some form of hibernation. That would be the only way you could really do it, unless you had an absolutely HUGE ship with enough resources to support a crew for forty years... and train replacements... well, you see the problem. No mention of Cryonics of hibernation in the game.
And I know that we're nowhere near either of those technologies.
Also, if we had a crew sleeping for that long, who would pilot the ship? A computer? A computer, even now, in the nearly twenty-first century, could not pilot a ship that long without having some need for diagnostics, or it would either pilot the ship off course or go nuts (One word: HAL.) and that, of course, would be a problem.
And Alpha Centauri is the closest star to us. We would have to at least put a man on Mars before we could even consider putting a man on a planet orbiting another star.
Also, we'd have to confirm that there even was a planet orbiting Alpha Centauri. It's a planet in a double-star system [triple-star if you count Alpha Centauri C (Proxima Centauri)] and that would be impossible to handle with modern spacesuits.
SO many problems that only a trip to Mars would be able to even partially solve.
We've never landed on a planet with an alien atmosphere, and they expect us to believe that we could go straight from the Moon to a planet orbiting an alien star? Yeah, right.
There are dozens of things that point out that we'd have to go to Mars before the stars.
You could write a book on the necessity of a Mars mission on the road to colonizing space (which would be awesome in future Civ games, in my opinion, Test of Time got it almost right), which I also believe is the next logical step in the growth of humanity. Any day now, a huge meteor or comet could wipe us all out because we have all our eggs in one basket, as it were.
                            But that is another story.

                              some wonder ideas:

east india company gives harbors (and/or commercial docks (PTW) ) in every city
(i know the name is used in many occasions but what the heck )

unfortunately there is no "not on home continent" or "only one per continent" flag else we could have something like a colonial administration office or something.

colonial charter would allow for cheaper settlers, maybe a slight corruption decrease also

imperial shipyard gives harbors or military docks or something in every city, maybe allow for special ships to be built.

I tried the "Habror in every city" ideas. The problem is, it put the harbors in every city, even in the mountains!
