So was my comment, Centauri. I guess it was a bit too much...

Just glasses would be fine. The Dalai Lama has glasses. Tibetan monks haven't changed their lifestyle all that much for centuries, which is a good thing, all things considered..."When we begin to regulate, there is naming,
but when there has been naming
we should also know when to stop.
Only by knowing when to stop can we avoid danger." - Lao-zi, the "Dao-de-jing"

Change the robe. First have it as is, then go more elaborate and a different colour, then something else, then finish off with a fancy dark red robe with gold trim and all that stuff. Changing the background would be good too.

For the Ancient and Middle Ages, have a pagoda in the background and then for the Industrial and Modern Ages, change it into the Potala Palace."When we begin to regulate, there is naming,
but when there has been naming
we should also know when to stop.
Only by knowing when to stop can we avoid danger." - Lao-zi, the "Dao-de-jing"

Or perhaps for the modern era have him standing in a nice peaceful garden, with Bhudist Temple (did I spell Bhudist right? And Tibet is Bhudist?) et all, but have in the background as if he's in the middle of some metropolis...just like many temples are in real life.
But I wouldn't have his robe become elaborate or anything...modern monks still wear modest, simple robes (at least the one's I've seen).
Oh yeah, and don't skimp on the incense eitherI AM.CHRISTIAN
