Great minds think alike! I made a Magna Carta Wonder almost identical to yours (Hmmmm, Magna Carta, State Church, wonder what civ I was playing as....)

I used the UN graphic for it because I was too lazy to make my own.

The Magna Carta is a fine idea but I would make it 2-3 culture points and up the cost to build it.
I was planning on keeping the production cost for them at their original level.
But I will consider your suggestion.

Optimizer and Sheik, I believe that these changes will free up more production time for military units for whoever completes one or more of these wonders.

I realize that with the revised Magellan's Voyage, that means all new cities that are established overseas will automatically have a trade route connection to the continent. But that is not too unbalancing, is it??

GhengisFarb, so do you know who provides new graphics for new ideas??

        Speaking of Magellan's Voyage....

Now I often play huge archi maps, and I find it funny being able to build Magellan's Voyage without even being able to send a galley to another continent let along around the world.

With this in mind, I would like Firaxis to change this (since I dought the editor can help here). In order TO BE ABLE to build this wonder, you must have some sort of complete visable route around the entire world that is revield to you, doesn't matter how you got it. Then you'll be able to build it.

        Any thoughts?

Nitpicking a tad bit too much on realism??

One option I would like to see in the editor, is the option for a wonder to give all new cities a specific improvement, while cities that was built before the wonder was built get nothing...

Would be a little interesting: Should I build the city now, and thereby claim the ground for me, or should I wait a few turns, with the danger of the land being taken away from me, but then I get the Temple for free if I still can build there in two turns...
This space is empty... or is it?

If you want to graphics I recomend that you go online, find an image and then use Paintshop to make color depth 256 and to change the images to the correct sizes.

Oh right, I forgot, it's okay to build Carreirs without even learning how to fly a damn plane!

Oh now that one, I would have problems with.

One could have a GPS Wonder that increases ocean movement.
The difference between industrial society and information society:
In an industrial society you take a shower when you have come home from work.
In an information society you take a shower before leaving for work.

Here are some of my ideas:

Magellan's Voyage: keep its original bonus, but add that it gives a Harbor in all of your cities
This has the rather odd effect of giving harbours to landlocked cities. It looks strange on the map, but still gives the food bonus for saltwater squares.

Copernicu's Observatory: keep its original bonus, but add that it gives a Library in all of your cities

SETI: keep its original bonus, but add that it gives a University in all cities on only that continent which SETI is built
I think these would be too powerful. Both these wonders are already on my "build whenever possible" list. Perhaps changing Issac Newton's College back to it's Civ 1 power instead would be a more balanced option.
Cost 800, counts as a library in each city.
                        Required building: University.
                        Effects expire with Nuclear Fission.
                        Scientific, Industrious
(note: Original bonus is not kept)

Theory of Gravity comes late in the Medieval, a time when most cities already have libraries. It's primary effects will be on maintenance costs and new aquisitions. Industrial conquest will produce a huge culture explosion for the owner of this wonder. Once Fission is aquired, the free libraries will have to be rebuilt. A handy wonder for civs planning on some Cavalry based expansion, but of little use to a civ that's planning on "turtling" through the Industrial age.

It may be a game breaker to have any wonder bestow permanent culture buildings to all cities.

Cure for Cancer: keep its original bonus, but add that it gives a Hospital in all cities on only that continent which Cure for Cancer is built
This sounds reasonable. It would seem that some testing is in order.
Libraries are state sanctioned, so they're technically engaged in privateering. - Felch
I thought we're trying to have a serious discussion? It says serious in the thread title!- Al. B. Sure

You should have more non-military small wonders. In the original game, most of them are military.
The difference between industrial society and information society:
In an industrial society you take a shower when you have come home from work.

Yeah, I found that out, Ghengis.

Too bad there's no way to correct that.
