    UPDAtE!!!!! The installer is updated...!

    Greetings!

It took me a long time but the project I started in January is finally complete!! This is the completests civilization created as far as I know. Some creators did only graphics, the others changed civ3mod, but this one has both.

I thank all the people who supprted and and shaped my ideas with their vaulable feedbacks.

    Enjoy

    Quick List:

    Additions:
    -New Civilopedia Entries
-New unit->Janissaries: Ottoman Empire's UU. 5/2/2; replaces knight; costs one shield less than knight (6); upgrades to marine.
-New leaderhead (base face Caesar; most of the face is changed and many additions are made).
-All of the graphics required for a civilization are included.
    -Different animations for different eras.
    -Different clothing for different eras(leader).
-50 city names: I didn't include any cities outside Turkey's border since it can cause a conflict
problem with other civilizations (Egyptians, Greeks..).

    Changes:
-Changed Aztecs to militaristic, expansionist (was militaristic, religious).
-Replaced Zulu with Ottoman Empire (militaristic, religious)
-Replaced the Zulu UU with Ottoman UU since Zulu UU will not be needed anymore (the civ3multitool crashes my mod, that is why I don't have a new unit.)

    Not Included:
-Animations for Janissaries. Suggested unit animation to be used is Musketman. I am sorry... I barely had enough time this week to finish the leaderhead. I won't be able to compete the unit till the end of summer...

    Installation Notes:
->Ottoman_Empire.zip has all the files (except Su_b01.flc) in it. See readme for installation details.
->Su_b01.zip has the middle age animation. Unzip it in Art\Flics folder. It won't replace anything.

    The files:
    Installer.zip
    Su_b01.zip

Janissarie.zip- removed after 50 downloads. (is in the installer now)

        civ3mod

1- I've realized an error in the civ3mod. The corrected civ3mod is attached.
I wrote Turk instead of Turks . This error leads to some funny expressions such as "I, the great ruler of the Turk....".
Note: The ones who know how to correct this error from the civ3mod don't need to download this. Just add an "s".
2- Nothing upgraded to Janissarie. Now Swordmen upgrade to Janissaries. The cycle is like this now Swordsmen-Janissarie-Marine...

        civ3mod.zip- removed after 16 downloads
        civ3mod.zip- romoved after 11 downloads

The corrected civ3mod is in the corrected installer. No extra files needed.

I haven't downloaded the mod, nor am I planning to soon (As I hav a slow modem and am content with the current civs [sorta]).
Ijust had ine driticism: the chice of UU. If the Janissarie is a gunpowder unit, why does it replace the knight? And anyway, breaking the Chariot-->Cavalry line is a terrible thing to do.
          Just my humble opinion...

1- It doesn't brake the chariot-cavalary line. Nothing upgrades to Janissarie (wait a second, something must upgrade to janissaries...hmm I will have to release a new civ3mod... maybe swordsmen) and Janissarie upgrades to marines.
2- Janissaries were actually advanced swordsmen, but they existed in the industrial era too (armed with guns). That is why I made them armed with guns, and put them a high attack power. They served offensive purposes rather than defensive purpose.
3- Turks never had knights. Actually Turks never ever fought with heavy armor. Light armor=speed, which caused them to easily defeat the slow heavily armored knights.

I actually don't exactly know how I would define Janissaries interms of the system in Civilization, but I think this is the closest definition.

Thanks for your comments though. You have made me realize a very important error . I need more feedbacks though (to release a second improved version).

              PanicX, I am new in this game and tried to run your Ottoman Empire;
I downloaded the Ottoman_Empire.zip and unzzip to scenaries folder but didnt works, also Su_b01.zip was unzziped into Arts\FLICS and janissarie.zip unzziped to Arts\units folder. A message appears that said: "this demo can be run only in the same type of machine which was created"
My PC is an Athlon 900 mhz, Geforce MX 400, Win XP professional,
384 MB Ram and A7V MB. Civ3 runs easily in this machine.
Surely I am making or misleading some important step in the process.
Colud you be as kind to help me? thanks Angel Costa Rica

I do not mean to be mean, but since the Turks will be in the expansion pack, why do you spend the time making this mod??

Turks being in the XP was only found out within the last 24 hours; the XP actually being known about is also less than a month old as well.

I think it will be interesting to compare the 2 versions; then you can use the one you want. You can also have both Turk civs in the same game to make it challenging, esp if there are 2 different Turkish leaders.

                    Angel Gonzales,
Does that message come out when you try to open the installer, the one that gets unzipped with the Ottoman_Empire.zip? (I hope not, otherwise I am in major trouble ) Could you write the whole message? Because the wording can change a lot.

Lord Poseidon, kring already replied for me... I started this project because I was extremely mad at Fraxis for not putting the Turks in the game. I was nearly done in February (could not finalize because of schoolwork), and relesed it last week, when no civs from the new game were known.

I think Firaxis will create a completely different civ, but the leader will be the same, since they are doing Ottomans too. Suleyman against Suleyman. Also they may use Janissaries, which I think they shouldn't (Sipahi is the real force but nobody knows it so I didn't use it).

the message - which i also got - is approx. "Demo installations only work on the machine on which they were installed".

Also, something else I thought of while replying in a thread about Spanish civ.

Not everyone is going to buy the XP. While I am undecided on the XP until it is released, I have no problem with trying this mod, and will download it when I get to my Civ 3 computer. If I like it, I will keep it even if I do buy the XP. It looks good from what I have seen of it so far, your mod.

PanicX, when I try to run the install said exactly "Demo installations only run on the computer they were created on" very similar to the text of AlrigthyThen. regards Angel

I guarantee 99% sure that the Janissaries will be the Ottoman UU.

Ok I understood the problem Angel Gonzales. It will take me few days (or even a week-exams) to fix it. I need to ask Gramphos. Thanks for telling. Nearly 50 downloads and nobody realized that error?

Probably Trip, but Janissaries were more of a problem for the Ottoman Empire than a help. Think of an army that does whatever it wants, kills all the rulers that it doesn't like, and creates major uprisings... They should do Sipahi because Ottomans were Turks, and Turks were the most skillful horse riders-fighters at their time.
