How about a National Sporting League for a small wonder?
I like many of these ideas...
It's just a shame that wonder effect choices are so limited...
After a few more ideas, I'll condense this thread.

        Ok, here's a few more:

        - The Channel Tunnel (between France and England)
Possible effect: Increased commerce. Would be nice to actually get land-unit passage across a 2 sqare stretch of water, but that's probably not possible to pull off with the game engine.

        - the Three Gorges Project (super-dam being built in China)
Possible effect: Increased production, commerce and food production on entire continent, and a bunch of unhappy citizens in the city. Or maybe just like another Hoover Dam.

        - Kansai International Airport (japanese airport, built on an artificial island)
        Possible effect: Increased commerce.

        - the new Great Library of Alexandria (yeah, they've built a new one)
Possible effect: Same as the first? Or increased research.

        - the Hubble Telescope
        - the Human Genome Project
        - the International Space Station (would be cool if it could be made as a colaboration between several civilizations)
        - Various Mars expeditions.
        Possible effect: Increased research rate.

            No

I don't think it would be a good wonder. I've never heard of it before. It can't be a wonder just because its building price was very high. If that make a thing a wonder there is a lot of other things that also had to be wonders.
            It's not even old!

The pictures below are some of the bridges in Denmark (storebæltsbroen & øresundsbroen), which should be wonders if that Getty-thing is a wonder.
