Question about bonus resources

    That's not what he's saying. The game will only recognize 24 icons not resources. Anything after those are invisible on the map. So you have double/triple the use of icon spaces if you wnat to add more resources.

      Well you can either use the Civ3MultiTool or the hacked Civ3 editor. I'd recommend the MultiTool, you can find it in the Files forum.

        I'm playing with way more icons than that and I don't have any problems at all. I'll post my mod after I get hold of the new patch and you'll see, in case you don't believe me.

            By all means, prove me wrong. But this has come up on several occasions with everyone saying the same thing. A better plan would be send me your resources.pcx file, that's how you can tell how many icons you're using. The game won't recognize any that are placed on the last two rows, so that makes 24 icons it does acknowledge. The default game only uses 22.

              Well, my mod will have to wait longer, until the new version of MultiTool comes out.

              Here are links to the files I was working on:




              Resources has the image, civilopedia has the textfile with the entries, and OLD.bic is the modified civ3mod. I suppose you would need to use all three files to prevent the game from crashing.
