So are you copying the resources using Civ3 Multi Tool? That would explain why the icons don't appear in the Civilopedia. If you go into the editor, you can change the icon that appears there. You'll see a window showing the icon and some numbers. Just cycle up and down the numbers. If that doesn't work, take a look around in your Art folder and copy the images your currently using.
BTW, there's a couple of graphic around somewhere that replaces the goody huts. Both are rather interesting and an improvement over the default. One of them looks like the stone heads on Easter Island.Last edited by Willem; February 9, 2002, 12:56.

Nah, I'll keep the Copper dependencies as they are. I'm using the same logic as the game does with several resources; after awhile, it's so commonplace it isn't necessary to depend on isolated pockets of the resource. Only units in the very first tech level -- bronze working through ceremonial burial -- need copper to be built. If the player doesn't find a source of copper, which is always visible on the map, he can muddle through to the middle ages when the Pikemen becomes available.
It would be a good idea to have an advanced spearman that uses iron spears instead of copper spears, so that there is another route for players lacking copper. But I haven't found unit graphics to match yet.MonsterMan's Mod: http://www.angelfire.com/amiga/civ3/

hetairoi22: I'm attaching the resources.pcx I've created. I'd upload the civ3mod.bic too, but I'm working on it right now so it wouldn't function properly.
Make a backup of your existing file, and extract the file in the zip to your CivIII/Art folder.Attached FilesMonsterMan's Mod: http://www.angelfire.com/amiga/civ3/

Apolyton seems to be shaky when it comes to files. I downloaded the zip as well and it is indeed corrupt.
Try this link, save target as:

There's only enough room in the city screen windows for 8 of each, as those windows don't scroll. So there would be a very strong likelihood that the game will crash everytime you open the city display. I haven't really put that to the test though, I'm just making a logical assumption.
It never crushed because of resources for me. I added 4 strategic resources.
In the city screen if I have all strategic resources some of them just hidden behinde the title of the window
Also, the game will only recognize 24 resource icons in the resources.pcx file. Anything after that won't appear on the map. So if you want to add a bunch of bonus resources, you'll have to double up on the icons for some, or settle for not being able to see them.
Yes you can't have more then 24 icons for rec. If you add more they are invisible on the map. What I did, I use the same icon for fish and whales and for game and cattle.

Thankyou for clarifying the situation s3d : )
However, you are wrong when you say that there is a total bonus limit of 24. I don't know if I did something exceptional - I don't think so - but I'm playing with 33 resources and they work just fine. Check out my zip file and pics in this thread.
Willem seems to dispute it too, when he says he's added 20 bonus resources. I would be happy if I could check out your resources.pcx Willem : )Last edited by MonsterMan; February 12, 2002, 05:11.MonsterMan's Mod: http://www.angelfire.com/amiga/civ3/
