    Actually, yes - I began work on something like this just not too long ago (I ran into some troubles and it's been longer than I wanted to work on it) - but they looked pretty good. I made them look raised and with offramps and onramps...

    I did it for Civ 2, too - and it was much easier because I could edit the code of the came to say "highway" instead of railroad - unfortunately, I would have no idea how to do this in Civ 3.
