also it makes the modern and industrial age units seem faster..
Not as slow as a galley. Frigates were little speed demons. Galleons, frigated, and ships-of-the-line were all significantly faster than galleys.

If the modern ships were too slow in comparison, make them faster.

Can't agree more! Test those ships in the huge earth map and you'll know how slow are they. Took me 27 turns to travel from Northern America to South Africa with a galleon!!!!

Great job, but what's with the thing that diplomats and spies are conscript, regular or vetaran?

umm how about 1 faster movement across the board and two extra movements for industrial (other than iron clad and submarine) and modern ages units.. hmm it needs to be play tested..

your government controlls the chance of your espionage activitys succeeding or failing (and other things do as well) the higher the rank the better your chances are.

Rename "Democratic Socialism" a Socialist Democracy. That's the proper term for it in the dictionary. Canada and many Western European countries follow the model. It's almost the same as a Representative Democracy (called Democracy in Civ3), except there's a national service/conscription. The soldiers produced aren't the same as the forced conscripts of a Communist country, however. The corruption levels are the same as a democracy instead of "Communal", and soldiers can be assigned as city guards due to national curfew hours. I'm sure you've figured all of that out.

im working on the next version and Democratic Socialism is being completely redone..
                    constitutional monarchy is working good.

Socialist Democracy, sounds more elegant.. so i dont care i guess ill change it to that..
Currently it is pretty much a democracy that can go to war better.. with a couple draw backs added for balancing..

Hey ancient - great patch! Does this make AI civs more backstabbingly cutthroat, or does this just happen around mid game. I don't know, since I've had the patch nearly since the beginning, and since I installed it, there's been hell to pay. Before I installed it, I'd only reached the mid to late early game, so I don't know.

                                Sugestions, questions about 1.8

Hey...does anyone favor/shun constitutional monarchy in the 1.8 patch world? Also, although I think you are doing a great job, are you sure some units need to be upgradeable? I think this might be going a bit too far. Also - good deal w/increasing naval movement. It was really frustrating upgrading from caravel to galleon and finding them slow as @#%$^%! Magellon's voyage does'nt give an extra naval move?
About help, unfortunately I'm programming challenged, suggestion filled, but check out my new thread in "creation". Its a discussion of alternate concepts that hopefully you and others might get some ideas from and go with it. I mentioned your work in a very complimentary fasion. Keep it up.
