Hey yeah your logic is better... A tank will try playing bumper cars with enemy units instead of maximizing their range advantage in combat right? Yeah I'm sure in DESERT STORM our tanks knew that the T-72's had inferior range so we decided ot be fair and close the distance so we both had a fair chande to hit eachother right? It dosent work that way, If you're in a tank and you see ifnantry, you fire at them from a safe distance. In civ3 the only way to simulate that is bombard. Otherwise you attack normally and now the elite musketman is able to do damage to your tank if not destroying it somehow?
