Okay, I have been working on this all spare-time this day, and I've not had time to test it very mush.

      - You can now change the year. (Thanks to jimmyh for giving me the valid year info (didn't have time to check it out myself))

And the thing that I'm not 100% sue about its functionality:
-The SaveGame Editor can now load Starting Psosition Files. One example file is included in the zip, but it places all the civs in water on most maps.

The things that can be set in the file are FOW and cords.

The old version will stay linked in the first post for tonight.

Now the tool reads the CivName entered, if any.
The CPF-files can also contain civs not in the rules.
          The priority is
          1. name compare (case sensitive)
          2. index compare
          3. move other civs if collision
          4. move barbarians if collision

Also more functions for the FOW has been added.

          Out after 33 downloads.

          • extract map?
I believe there was also a feature to extract a map from a bic with bith, map + rules, but I can't find it.
I'm trying to split rules and map and use a big map without reaching the 8MB crash size.

When a BIC is loaded there is a text telling what it includes. Click on it.

Do you get any Error message or anything else, or does it just don't start?

I believe they are the most hard to find functions, but I couldn't fit them in the interface in any other way back then.

                      • Hi and thank's for the tool, at least because of your tool I was able to play this BUGGY GAME a little bit longer, but now it is over. I think I have corrected the save game around 7 times, it always worked fine, that I changed all settlers to workers and than I could continue until, some of the computer civs wanted to build one city too close to the pole or somewhere, where it didn't belong. But now it is over :-( Now I could load the save game to the game, but next turn it crashes. But now it is impossible to load it into your tool to delete the settlers ? I also could only finish a game, with the original maps, none of the downloaded maps work fine. I think I have now tried 10 different maps and always couldn't finish it, but it is boring to play on the original map.
Maybe you could find the problem with my save game, if so I would be grateful. Anyway thx for the tool, at least I could play a little bit longer :-)

                        • Tzar Alex III,
There is a worker in that save that has no Nationality. That causes an error in my tool. I'll see if I can find a way to make the tool load it.

I've added some more error handling to the tool to allow units without nationality to be loaded. (I believe they are the 'ÿÿÿÿ Workers')
I've also included a BAT that starts the SaveGame editor directly.

                            • I've found a bug with the year calculation. I'll try to do something about it as soon as possible.
(The year may corrupt when editing late games)
