As anybody who's played huge maps knows, Iron Works is the proverbial impossible dream on them. The rare time you do get an IW site, chances are it's off in the boonies somewhere, and the wonder might double your production to two shields. Yippee.
My current game is C3C 1.22, unmodded except for city names, huge, continents, 60% water, 12 total civs. I'm playing the Inca (not a bad civ at all, btw). I discover Steam Power, and don't give IW a second thought (based on past experience, of course). A few turns later, I'm looking at something else and realize that I have an IW site. Even better, it's right in my core. I look around a bit more and I've got another one! Two coal/iron confluences smack dab in my core... and I missed both of them when placing my early cities, of course.
Fortunately, I was able to place Juliaca (3333 from Cuzco) on the closer site. The second one is at the top of the screenshot, to the right of center.
