I've seen that once before. Unfortunately it was a turn after I had taken the AI city, and took three of my units with it. I wasn't even aware the thing was active.

Starting next to a volcano is one of the very few things that would make me move my starting settler.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

I like volcanoes, and the fact that the AI doesn't avoid them. It's fun to watch them get themselves blown-up!

I once made the mistake of building my capital next to a volcano. I was testing a mod I had made, and in my rush to get to the testing, I didn't notice the volcano next door. The next thing I knew...

The reason people live next to volcanoes, is the highly nutritient nature of the stuff they spew out. So I'm thinking of adding 2-3 wheats to volcano, and enabling road building.

          What do you think?

That could be interesting, but people will just settle two tiles away and claim the goodies with the first culture expansion.

I thought the nutrient-rich volcanic soil was common knowledge ...

It's part of the reason why so unreasonably many people live volcanic places.

Well, you can use volcanic rocks in gas BBQs. So, in a way, volcanoes can affect food processing...

I've never seen a city that got destroyed by a vulcano
I haven't played Civ3 that many times though

Vulcanoes only exist in C3C, so if you are play C3 or PTW you won't see them.

Yeah, I ment to write C3C instead
I've played many games of Civ3 and PTW, but I was tired of the game as Conquests was released so I only played few games of that
