    1. What exactly is a meltdown?
    2. Which is a better gov.-democracy or communism.
    3. How do you delete a save file?
    4. Can you set a worker to automatically clean up pollution? If so, how?

    1. A meltdown is when you have playing a game of conquests for several hours and you don't get the coal resource.
    OR
The RNG (random number generator) causes you to lose five cavalry attacking a spearman on the plains.
    OR
I guess it could be a nuclear powerplant going nova on ya'

    2. Democracy is better for economy, which is very important to the game. However communism is great to war with. Also, if you have a far flung empire, communism may be better in reducing corruption. It really depends on the situation you find your empire in.

    3. You will have to use Windows Explorer, My computer or a command prompt to manually delete the file.

    4. You can set a worker to clean up all pollution. I can't recall the keyboard shortcut, but if you go to preferences, turn on advanced buttons...it's one of those buttons that show on the screen (lower center).

If you are not using C3C, I would say commie is not of much value. In C3C it is viable for large empires.

Saves folder will be in the civIII directory for original civ3 and a sub direcotry for PTW or Conquest.

When I go to C:/.../Civi3/saves, all I find is one folder labeled auto that has nothing in it when I open it.
And can you use gold to hurry production in communism instead of killing citizens? I have over 10,000 gold just sitting in my treasury with nothing to do.

Also, one more thing, I can only find the civ3/saves when I open it using the civ3 editor;I can't find it in the my computer. And it is in a seperate file labeled F or something.

If you have Play The World, the folder is "...\Civilization 3\Civ3PTW\Saves", if you have Conquests, go to "...\Civilization 3\Conquests\Saves".
              Seriously. Kung freaking fu.

1: This has never actually happened to me, and i have played for like 1200 hours. Don't concern yourself.

2: The general consensus is that rebublic is the best government.

3: Then it is probobly in the one called 'civilization 3'
If that is not it, when you save a game, you can check what folder it is in by going one folder up

You are looking at the CD, it will not have any saves on it as it is not writable.

Open Windows explorer and go to the HD you have the game installed to (C or D likely). Look in Program Files.

If worst comes to worst you can just work out what the file name is and use windows search....

And can you use gold to hurry production in communism instead of killing citizens?
You can edit governments in the civ editor... But allowing this option for communism may make it way unbalanced. Remember, communists hate money cause they hate capitalism... Why would they work quicker if you gave them something they hate? :P

I don't know, Communism doesn't appeal to me. I always found Democracy to be working best. War weariness is not so much of a problem since I don't usually have such long lasting wars.
I think with C3C Fascism is a better option for warring civs than communism.
